They must be, affiliates of moneybookers as they name implies, and the only online bookmaker besides gbookers who uses moneybookers is guess who, fonbet.com.
Obviously gbookers and fonbet are closely linked.

Hi Jack,
more and more bookies using the lame service called moneybookers, pointbet, betfair etc.
I think gb are partly bulgarian, then russian, then austrian and then english company.
In fact,a money laundering company.
I dont think fonbet has anything to do with them.
Fonbet is purely Russian, quite solid book with many shops in russia, but their lines and limits at internet sux big time.

vg, i see, i hadn't noticed the other using moneybookers, and you are right, they suck, they tell you on their website that a withdrawal via bank transfer costs only 2.5 euros or something, and the actual costs rise up to 20-30 euros, of course they include a clause that any costs incurred by third parties are not their responsibility. So, in their way of thinking it's not THEY that charge you the 30 euros but the bank that they send you the money from, what a joke. As for money laundering, gbookers obviously, moneybookers i doubt since i ve been told they are based in england and they have very strict regulations when it comes to financial services and money laundering, reviewing each transaction and requiring a passport copy etc. Obviously, if you play the money at gamebookers and then withdraw, it's not money laundering just money won gambling legally. http://theprescription.infopop.net/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Do you play at gamebookers? How d you find them to be? I personally like them a lot for a few reasons, a: software interface must be the best around when it comes to online betting, b:limits not high but decent c:Variety of betting offers, huge thing in my opinion, i might have to pay some heavy juice betting asian handicaps in the greek league say, but no one else offers them, so i ll gladly pay the juice if i got a very good bet i cant find elsewhere.

What i dont like. a: system lately has been slow as hell, and getting on my nerves, esp. on Sats and Suns when the bets being placed are highest. b: no neteller withdrawals, moneybookers. c: very high juice in handicaps, huge, almost never bet handicaps there.

I ll put aside the matter of money laundering,as its not something that should bother us.However, almost every book doing this dirty job.
I have quit betting at them because they don't act like pros,if you request a payout, they might pay you in one day,in 1 month or not at all. Also have heard some bad stories about bet cancellations etc.
IMO Centrebet is one of the best european bookies out there, offers plenty of events also, and its more reliable.

Centrebet are located in Australia, not in Europe...

vg, centrebet is australian, and they are indeed very reliable as most aussie books are.

I have not had a single problem with gamebookers i terms of payout and they ve always been very prompt. I ve read some stories too, but most people have got an agenda and gamebookers is likely to get some negative mentions being one of the most commonly used books they are. As far as i know out of personal experience all my bets have gone through correctly and marked correctly and in the few differences i had with them they handled them in a very decent way.

Yes I know Centrebet is australian, but their stuff is european,no one should bother to play their 1.90 lines on US sports, but they offer almost every event and every league for betting in europe, and I ve never heard one single bad word for them.

Marilyn hon-- why do you want to play someone
here in a game of chess?? there are plenty of
sites like www.chess.net (http://www.chess.net) where you can find
like-minded souls to play.

When I started my internet betting career back in 1998, it was clear to me that mainly for tax reasons companies had to locate themselves in the so-called tax havens. I could not be bothered that much (and things have not changed that much since that time) were a book would be located, but it did (and still does) interest me who is behind it. Coming from a Western European country one knows far too well that business practises of Eastern European countries are not always "comme il faut". At the same time getting older in life one learns too that discriminating both in a positive and negative way someone on his background itself is not very smart either. I have been playing with Fonbet and never had a problem, BUT when a website already looks very dubious and requires me to make a phone call, which is then responded by someone with a heavy Slavic accent, that is then bonus for me! I would and will still not play with such a book.

The book in question by the way is the late Atlanticbet. Is there anyone with late info on them? I know someone that is still owed about 30,000 pounds by them.
