A "Fade" is when someone is

1. Either in a slump or just a terrible hdcpr

or

2. Claims to have a "LOCK"

you simply "FADE" his pick and bet the opposite!

Fading:

Take the biggest loser you know (the one who couldn't pick a game to save his life) and bet the opposite side.

I'm very new at this so the following may be an unusual usage, but I have seen 'fade' (the verb) used in one additional context beyond those mentioned above.

When spread point odds are adjusted off of symetrical odds.

[e.g. a NFL game goes from -3pts -110/+3pts -110 to -3pts -115/+3pts -105 (instead of -4pts -110/+4pts -110).] I have seen this referred to as 'fading the odds'.

The VIG is what will get most new cappers to bust, (that and chasing) so if you can get into a few shops with reduced juice, and find a way to bet opposite certain cappers.

I fade cappers all the time now, there is so much more $$ in placing bets ALWAYS at + money, and betting agianst certain guys.
