View Full Version : Just noticed this board.....HELP!!!!!
I made a wager on a site Sun. The message following my bet was "Wager accepted" and the money was taken from my account. 30 mins after the race (which I WON), my bet was put back into my account and the bet was marked "Cancelled".
I called the service and was told that "Due to a computer glitch, the lines stayed open and the bet was accepted by accident".
My next question is therefore; am I not entitled to the payout? Can anyone assist me in getting a satisfactory settlement? (if not FULL pmt?)
Greatly Appreciate your help here.

NO, in the book where i work we dont pay flip lines or pastpost wagers!
I spoke with an manager at BevHillsBookie (not the bookie in question) and he told me that in this situation, they would honour the bet on a "first occurrence basis" atthe very least as it was an error on THEIR end. I spoke to another person as well who said that regardless of this "disclaimer', they too would have honoured it for likely 50%.
This is what I feel as well.

This has happened in the past where a player made a bet after the race had went off, we paid the player, then warned the player. This was in a very rare case and does not happen often at all. For sure, this will not happen with us anymore. We would like to think that no one would take shots anywhere where strict rules are in place.
Hope the book takes care of you in your case sds.
Good luck to all.

Thanks Justin,
Unfortunately, Virtualbookmaker.com hides when I call. I called Tues and asked for Bruce and the call screener gave me the runaround - "Bruce is a real busy guy and he is in meeetings all day - I'll tell him to call you when he finishes up". How stupid do they think we are?
Regardless of what "opinions" float about concerning my situation, we got burned with an honest screwup with THEIR self proclaimed "computer glitch" and they had ZERO interest in working anything out. So before Any heavy betting begins from this end, we still hunt for the reputable place - virtualbookmaker is not it.
Thanks all
