Over 13 million +110
Under 13 million -140
Am i missing something?
13 million sounds very low to me, are there some other big movies opening December 20 - 22?
I am expecting this flick to be huge, what are the opinions on this?

Be verrrry careful, man. Doesn't sound like you know what you're doing here.
GONY has lots of things working against it: it's only opening in 1500 theaters, Scorcese movies tend not to be big attractions, it's a period piece, and "worst" of all...The Two Towers just opened and is expected to gobble up every last moviegoing dollar for this weekend and the forseeable future.
All that said, it could very easily do 11-13 million, but it's a crapshoot. No guarantees.
the buzz in the movie industry in LA is that this movie is horrible. don't know if that is Miramaz and DiCaprio backlash but everybody has their knives out there for this one.

Critic reviews have been mixed but more like it than don't and those that like it really like it. Peter Travers at Rollingstone named it as his movie of the year. I know Roper liked it and I think Ebert did.
Now whether Harvey will ever make his money back on it is questionable, but he spent a lot so that isn't saying much. I likely will see it in theaters, but I can think of a number of films I would choose to see before it. This movie is going to get a number of Academy Award nominations so it will be in theaters for a while.

DiCarprio being in it WILL bring in the ladies
who want to see a macho Leonardo, if there is such
a thing. It's been getting lots of ad time for
many weeks now, and the public willget sucked
in for sure. If Maid in Manhattan did 19 mil, this
will surely do more. Over 13 gets it done.

Sorry to say...just around 3 mil for Friday, which means it's on course for 9-10 million tops this weekend. Respectable, but not a winner.
i knew this picture was doomed when I saw the LA Times review Friday morning. in the third paragraph, the reviewer referred to LA movie biz gossip. insiders are calling the movie "Stab Wounds of New York"
FYI- if you can get good odds on Chris Cooper (Adaptation) to win Best supporting Actor Oscar, you might want to pull the trigger. I also think Adaptation will win best adapted screenplay. it's not a perfect movie, but it is really good.

Thought i had a really good shot here.
