What are you required to do?

It is my belief that if one gets pulled over, one only need to crack the window and hand the officer a DL, registration, and insurance. Never be rude and never start and argument. Keep hands in plain view, especially at night.

The officer might attempt to interrogate a driver by asking such questions as: where are you coming from, where are you going, how much have you been drinking, etc. To avoid being rude, one might say "Officer, I am late for an appointment. If it's okay, could we skip the chit chat?"

Never ,ever, ever admit doing wrong. Usually the first thing an officer will ask is, " do you know why I pulled you over?" Simple answer to this question would be "no, sir."

One thing to keep in mind. If the officer has issued you a ticket, warning, or neither but continues to pump you for information or delay you, you can ask if you are free to go. A lot of people never ask this question, rather they wait and wait for the officer to dismiss them.

Interested to hear what others have to say about what to do when getting pulled over.

Huh??? I've been pulled over for speeding 3 or 4 times and never gotten a ticket and I do exactly the opposite of every single thing described in this post.

That will get your ass yanked out of the car & quite possibly roughed up in the city of Denver.

yeah, i would NEVER recommend saying or doing anything that could be interpreted (or misinterpreted) by a cop as rude...

why even risk pissing him/her off?

my best friend here in DC is a U.S. Marshal and former city cop in Houston...he's taught me all the best ways to get out of shit...

saying something like that to him or one of his buddies or probably any cop would just piss him off, without a doubt.

Not sure what you mean by doing the opposite. Could share your strategy and tactics with us?
