McCline-Smith
Big time McCline is 36 and hasn't looked good in a while. He's been beating some low-rent bums lately trying to pad his record in an attept to get another title shot. I was at the McCline-Calloway fight and scored it 97-93 but could easily have been 96-94. Calloway is by far the best guy McCline has beat since losing a lopsided decision to Zuri Lawrence, a loss he blaims on a blood disease that is now under control. Excuses...excuses...Calloway and McGee have both been stopped several times in their careers but they both went the distance with McCline back to back...this year.
Terry Smith is not a great fighter, but he's good and he has a ton of heart. What he lacks in skill, he'll make up for with his work rate and determination. McCline fades pretty fast, after the 5th or 6th round, Smith should be able to outhustle and outland the huge, lumbering McCline. I was only 25 feet from the Calloway fight and McCline looked extremely uncoordinated to me, size is his best asset.
Smith recently went 10 rounds with Calvin brock who's not a great fighter either but he has some power, almost killed the guy that schooled McCline for 10 rounds. Anyway, Smith was a late replacement and took the fight on very short notice. Still he held his own against Brock, one judge had it 96-94, the other judges gave Smith 3 rounds. On short notice he did quite well agianst another guy who schooled McCline for 10 rounds.
Here's the kicker, location...location...location
Smith is from Little Rock, AR which is only a few hours from Tulsa, OK where this fight will take place.
Smith has fought in Oklahoma 14 times in the last 5 years, thats almost 3 times a year. And 10 of those fights were in Tulsa!
There one thing you can be sure of in this fight, Smith has the hometown advantage here and the crowd will cheer every time he throws a punch whether it lands or not. Very tough spot for McCline here, who always fades late in the fight and doesn't have a high work rate anyway.

Any input would be appreciated over the following options.
I know nothing about boxing but from what i gathered Gatti
should win..
What is the likelyhood to see K.O here?from the reading i did
it seems most likely this fight will end up by decision
Should i go for Gatti by decision or straight?
By decision pays 2.44 while ML pays 1.65
Or split between the two options,hmmm..
Any advice will be appreciated.

With you boxlocks - I love when that happens. I'm going 2 units on Gatti. I think Arturo puts alot of pressure on Baldy tonight because Gatti knows Baldy can't hurt him. I think it will go the distance, and the partisan AC crowd will help Gatti win some of the close rounds. GL!

I wouldn't have played Gatti if I didn't already have Baldy at ridiculous numbers. So I can't really answer your question, but I will say that the straight bet is always safer. When you aren't getting much + money back on the proposition and you're not laying much juice on the straight bet, take the straight as anything can happen in boxing. Baldy has a solid chin and Arturo will probably break one or both of his hands by the 6th round, but Arturo has one punch ko power and cuts happen frequently on both of these fighters. So, IF you like Gatti, take the -154 at pinny and enjoy the home field advantage.

Thanks for the advice.i did go straight as advised.
I am just wondering tho reading you bet on both, does this mean
you will end in profit regardless of the winner here or you just hedged
one party by betting on other party too and will profit only if one of the
two win and reduce loss if it goes sour?

Gatti played right into Baldy's gameplan. I didn't think Carlos could KO Gatti, well I was wrong. Arturo was flatfooted the entire match, and had no bounce or movement. He was trying to land haymakers all night. NOT the gameplan he should have gone with (obviously). Buddy McGirt - two asskickings in a row for you pal.

Cashed in on Baldy +17.5 -115 but lost on Gatti -154...lost a little juice on the middle attempt
However
Baldomir +400 cashed...and Baldomir inside distance +638 cashed...very nice
Also made some personal plays on the fight...
Baldomir in rounds 7-9 +2000 very small (winner)
Baldomir in rounds 10-12 +1400 very small (loser)
Live betting...
Baldomir +175 average / Baldomir +150 average / Baldomir -120 average (winners)
Excellent week

McGirt had implied Gatti would box & not press for KO....hhhmmmm....
