I have alot of stuff on the way so keep an eye out. Some of it will be available within the hour. If you have a question, ask it. If you want position-by-position rankings, you'll get em. If you want the latest NFL news with a fantasy spin, look no further.

Bookmark this forum guys and gals. This will be the place you need to be at if you want to take home respect (and of course the prize money) in your fantasy football leagues.

We drafted this past weekend.

Thanks ******.

To give everyone a plan for how I'm planning to roll everything out:

Daily: Answering questions
Daily: Player news with a fantasy spin

Tonight: QB rankings
Tomorrow: RB rankings
8/16: WR Rankings
8/17: TE Rankings

Various other articles and snippets will be posted randomly so check back often.

And so on and so on... I may put up more than just what I listed depending on how much time I have as I am still only about 25% done with capping all the college football games for the opening week. Keep an eye out either way and if you have a question, I'd love to give you an in-depth answer.

Absolutely. If you want to start a new thread (I don't want to clutter this one up too much with questions) I'll be happy to respond to it shortly. I love IDP leagues because people always overlook the top defensive players and you can find nice value. Look for a rundown shortly.

Yes you can post links as long as they are not to directly competing forums with similar operating models as the Rx.com.

I understand that this subject sometimes calls for a link so go ahead but keep the one caveat in mind.

Thanks, wil..

I'm planning on putting up detailed rankings of my own, each with estimated stats for the upcoming season as well as a short writeup on each player. However, if you want some good links it appears that will be okay as long as you adhere to Wil's guidelines.

Well hopefully I'll be able to help you get that prize money. QB rankings are less than 60 minutes away. Top 35 comin your way.

Both if you do it right. Some guys throw thousands of dollars down on fantasy leagues so there is definitely money to be made.

The best way to learn is to play! Set up a free one with some of your friends to keep you interested, and you'll be an expert by next year:103631605

We will try to get a league together here. There are already quite a few going that started in the main forum.

Fantasy in a nutshell works like this...

You have a draft where you take turns picking players to be on your team. Generally, you need to start 1 QB, 2 RBs, 2 WRs, 1 TE, 1 WR/RB, 1 K, and one team defense.

You can't have the same player on more than one fantasy team in a league. Generally leagues have between 8 and 16 teams.

You get a certain amount of points whenever one of the players you are starting on your team does something good. Touchdowns are the big scorer but yardage scores as well. Kickers get points for FGs and XPs while defenses score for points allowed, sacks, ints, defensive TDs, etc etc...

If you are playing in a head-to-head league, whoever has the most points between you and the team you are playing that week gets the win. Win/loss record determines who goes to the fantasy playoffs.

Some people play in rotisserie leagues as well where you don't go head-to-head each week and the standings are determined by how your team does at season's end in various categories, compared to other teams.

That's a quick rundown anyway. Hope it helps.

Teazeman,
Cash can be won, but it's more about talking smack and beating your friends. Think Rx poker tournament on a season-long basis.

One where you get to watch football while you play. :toast:

You'll pay attention to crappy games that you usually wouldn't care about to see if your players do well.

Also, I just posted a thread in this forum where I started a free league for those that want to try out fantasy football for the first time.

That's pretty much the gist of it but I am trying to get together some fantasy leagues and contests with a sportsbook throwing in some extra cash for sponsoring. More to come so stay tuned. I'll do what I can.

Look for linebackers on poor teams. They are on the field more. Also look for poor db's. They get more chances for tackles/ints. Shutdown corners are poor choices because noone throws their way.

Very good advice. Look at the rook LB from the Texans did last year. Other than Champ Bailey, alot of the better corners have little fantasy value.

Looks like we'll do something for the actual NFL playoffs as opposed to something in the regular season. That way we'll have something to talk about when most fantasy leagues end.

MLB is my #1 sport for gambling. Probably 2nd best as far as fantasy sports goes since I like to think I know fantasy football pretty well.

You and me and some others down here will have to get a baseball league started for sure. :toast:

Make this trade or not?
I start 2 RB 1flexRB/WR 2WR
My RB's are B. Westbrook,Ronnie Brown,Larry Johnson(who is back with a salty schedule),and Tim hightower.
The trade is B. Westbrook who has been majorly uderproducing, they seem to just not use him in their offensive scheme anymore, and Ronnie Brown who has been losing some playing time to R. Williams.
For Adrian Peterson,Chester Taylor
I do understand it sounds a little heavy his way, but I will still be able to start Peterson,LJ,and Hightower with Boldin,A. Johnson. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would probably make that deal. Don't forget R Brown has a very easy schedule too.
