View Full Version : How much does Matchbook take in commission?

I opened an account but didn't fund it after the problems with Pinnacle and Neteller. Now that football season is starting, I like the odds (and low vigs) on it. But they don't state how much their commission is on the winnings. Anybody know?

Actually, it's a little more than 2%, since you have to lay juice when you place the bet. (e.g., in today's Cleveland vs Minnesota game, it's minus 114 on Cleveland and plus 111 on the Twins. Then, if you win, they'll take 1% - a special for September baseball - off of your winnings).
Still, much lower juice and much better odds than you'll find just about anywhere else.

You've got it wrong. There's a 2% commission (1% in MLB these days) on winning wagers no matter what, which translates into 1% juice (0.5% in MLB) - Matchbook doesn't set the odds, people like you are making offers. If you don't like -114, offer -111, and if you don't like +111, offer +114. There's no additional 3 cent juice here, it's just an arbitrary 3-cent spread that's created by supply and demand.

Just wanna add: depending on when you place your bets, you can regularly find better prices than what's currently offered at Matchbook, after factoring in the 2% comm.
Matchbook rocks because you can always ignore the current price and offer your own.

Oh, I see. How do I offer my own price?

I like their concept. Think they will do VERY well.

Figured it out. Question: When you offer your own price on a game where live betting is available, does your offer carry over to the live betting?

I'm pretty sure it all gets cleared when the game starts.

The thing is though, how do you get your money in there. I haven't played since last season and I'm scared to do anything now. Is Western Union even safe? What a hassle!!

They have 3 deposit methods for US customers. Call them and they will explain. Western Union is not one of them. I'm not discussing the deposit methods here. BOL.
