Hi gents. As we know there are 2 CFL games this evening and the early pits the visiting Lions (who need a victory) against the Hamilton Tiger Cats. Now my guess is that BC wins this game.
Here's where I'm looking for opinions.
The second game involves the Saskatchewan Roughriders agaisnt the hometown Edmonton Eskimoes. That game goes off about hours after the start of the first game, meaning Saksatchewan will probably know the outcome (that BC won) and will therefore have little or nothing to play for at that stage.
On the flipside their opponents, the hometown Eskimoes need a victory because they can still qualify for the postseason via the 'crossover' scenario. An Edmonton victory tonight and a pair of Montreal losses in the coming weekends, means Edmonton makes the playoffs.
When all is said and done, do you gentlemen think Edmonton might be a good shot on the moneyline against Saskatchewan tonight based on the result of the first game (BC knocking Hamilton off)?

I don't know if the result of the first game REALLY is going to mean that much to the spirit of the two teams. Saskatchewan basically has to believe that it's gotta get ready for Calgary in a couple weeks before worrying about anything else. Austin won't play his best players in the 4th quarter, maybe the whole 2nd half, and some might not play the whole game. Just like Hamilton tonight, Edmonton has nothing to lose here... it's their last home game and a shot to really prove that their season was worth something. The playoffs are still in sight for the Eskies, but hope is dim, so I don't think that that's an issue either.
Just based off sheer handicapping, I've taken the pts in the Edmonton game, so I can't argue with a ml selection here either.

I think SAS has played better than anyone the last month, but they will likely have nothing to play for and could rest a lot of starters. EDM has taken BC to the wire the last two weeks and still have some fight in them. I could only look at EDM, and if BC gets up on HAM in the early game, I would look at EDM a lot more.

here's what i put in my thread on tuesday......
Sask -5 @ Edmonton - Edmonton is still mathematically alive in the PO hunt. They can still cross over to the East if Montreal loses it's next games which is very likely (@ CGY & @ Winn) & Edmonton wins it's next two. (Sask & @ Ham) The Eskies beat Montreal twice in the H2H series so they hold the tie breaker. Montreal has lost 5 of their last 6 and did not cover a spread in that time. If hamilton happens to beat BC - Sask has something to play for - if BC wins this game means nothing to Sask as they will be locked in the 2nd place. I'll take some edmonton +5 3* right now I think this line goes down.....the eskies 3rd stringer Steven Jyles looked fairly comfortable as Edmonton extended BC into the 4th Q before the lions put them away on Saturday. Edmonton nearly upset the lions at home two weeks ago.
For games played in Edmonton
EDMONTON is 16-4 straight up against SASKATCHEWAN since 1996
EDMONTON is 4-0 straight up against SASKATCHEWAN over the last 3 seasons

Thanks gents. I also read somewhere where the green Riders will be without Cates, Dominguez and Szarka for tonight's game in Edmonton.

Dominguez is out with surgery on... I think it's his knee, but I don't want to swear to it. It's a bad injury though.

Apparently Dominguez's surgery will be performed by Chris Szarka using a power saw.
