Any other call other than a QB sneak was as 'fake' a fucking play as I've ever watched in my years of tuning into the CFL. First of all the team that's fighting for a playoff spot lets a 14-point lead escape with under 6 minutes remaining in regulation ay home against a team that is fighting for nothing more than momentum. Then they (Esks) get caught for a holding call on what was the apparent winning field goal. Hell I could watch attempted field goals all afternoon and for every ten attempted, maybe one would be called back for holding. Then watching the Esks QB scamper for 14 yards in OT when he needed 15 for the first down, looked mighty fucking suspicious, meaning he came up short when he could have given the extra effort for the 15th yard to attain the first down. Finally as I mentioned, a handoff with that defensive line, when a QB sneak was as basic a fucking call as there was? C'mon guys, once in awhile we all have to admit that some things in sports look mighty fucking fishy and if I ever saw an event that resembled that word, I just finished watching it a few minutes ago. With what was at stake in the CFL game tonight, the the majority of wagers were on the home side and the usual winners, the books, were on the side which for all intensive purposes, the game meant dick. Ugly and suspicious are the only two words to describe that game and there's no denying it one fucking bit.

What effect does or did this result have on the Als-Calgary game Saturday? Does this game mean anything at all now that Edmonton put the final pieces of last night's puzzle together?

No in all seriousness though. who's to say if sports are or is fixed or even if individual plays are setup and/or fixed? However when you witness what we watched last night in that CFL game, it certainly makes you wonder, stop and think for certain. When I asked Soprano where he got his 3.5 and then 4 after buying the .5 point, I though he was in solid shape for sure because if Saskatchewan were to win, they would win by 4 maximum. However what better way to extinguish a field goal win by the opposition than to go to OT and have the green Riders score a TD, followed by the Eskie QB falling down a yard short of the first down marker and then have him hand off two or three yards behind center to his running back who is stopped short in his tracks, when the logical play would have been for the QB to pick up the first down on the keeper? Ouch! :missingte :missingte :missingte

(Anyway, it's not the first scenario and it won't be the last one either, so lets move on. Once again, tough one for Eskie bettors to take!)

With that HUGE CFL neutral zone, a QB sneak is a no-brainer - incredible! Hope our bad beat is out of our system for the weekend.

As I understand it, Als now have nothing to play for, and same for Calgary. Only mystery left is who will finish first in the East, Loseipeg or Whoreonto.

I listened to the Eskies broadcast on the internet last night. The sideline announcer reported that the Eskies were shocked by the penalty which nullified the winning field goal for the Eskies. An Eskie player commented to the sideline announcer that he "couldn't believe the holding call aborted the field goal .... in fact, it's hardly, if ever called during a field goal attempt."
Wonder if the CFL has a NBA Ref problem? :think2:



Likely, the CFL with their limited resources won't look into it.
