(505) NEW ORLEANS HORNETS
(506) PHOENIX SUNS
Take "Under"
The new look Phoneix Suns begin the Terry Porter era with a new mission statement. Defense!! Terry Porter takes over as the Suns coach and while he has lots of offensive talent to work with, he's looking for the defense to do something is hasn't been used to doing, playing defense! He's also looking for the second unit players to contribute to this team. "When you look at good teams, that second unit is always motivating or pushing the first guys, keeping them sharp in practice and not letting them slip. That's very important," Porter said. "On all the good teams I've been on, sometimes that's the key. Those veterans won't have a chance to slip. Every day, they've got to come ready, because they've got somebody young going at them and attacking them." The Suns do have the depth to meet Porter's expectations. They have their top seven players back from last year and have added F Louis Amundson, F Matt Barnes and G Goran Dragic. There are high expectations in New Orleans as the team fully expects a run for the NBA crown. The Hornets have good reason to expect the best, they finished with a franchise record 56 wins in 2007 and their first division championship. They beat Dallas in the playoffs before losing in seven to San Antonio. The Hornets return all their key players, including Chris Paul, David West and Tyson Chandler. The club added James Posey from Boston for some added depth. The strength of this team will once again be their perimeter shooting. Olympic star, Chris Paul, has Peja Stojakovic and Morris Peterson joining him again to make a formidable trio of long range shooters. Now you add in Posey, who shot 38 percent last year from long range. A good test here on Thursday for Porter's new defensive philosophy against a very good shooting Hornets team. We'll take the UNDER here and believe that Porter can change the stripes on his tiger.

(505) NEW ORLEANS HORNETS
(506) PHOENIX SUNS
Take "(505) NEW ORLEANS HORNETS"

The Hornets and Suns collide in Phoenix tonight, with the Suns no doubt feeling great after a terrific effort at San Antonio on Wednesday night. Things may not go as well as they entertain New Orleans. The Hornets have been a thorn in the side of the Suns, having covered the last six meetings in the series, including four consecutive straight up wins. The Suns look to me like a team that could have some problems going back to back, and I also have New Orleans as the better team. Looks to me like the oddsmakers are giving a little indicator here with the number being as low as it is, and I.5?m going to dive in with a call on the Hornets.

SPORTS ADVISORS

(24) South Florida (6-2, 2-5 ATS) at Cincinnati (5-2, 2-4 ATS)

Two Big East teams coming off losses hook up when South Florida travels to Nippert Stadium for a nationally televised meeting with Cincinnati.

The Bulls dropped 10 spots in the rankings after their 24-20 loss to Louisville as a four-point road chalk Saturday, and they’ve now alternated ATS wins and losses over the past five games. QB Matt Grothe (30 of 40, 344 yards) put South Florida up 20-17 early in the fourth quarter with his second TD pass, but Louisville responded with the winning TD two minutes later. Grothe threw two INTs, including one late in the game that allowed the Cardinals to run out the clock.

The Bearcats got pounded 40-16 at Connecticut laying three points Saturday, snapping a four-game SU winning streak and giving Cincy its second straight ATS defeat. Cincinnati had an eye-popping six turnovers – losing three of six fumbles and tossing three INTs – with the last of those picks going the other way for a touchdown. The Bearcats rushed for just 30 yards, were outgained 349-289 overall and lost the time-of-possession battle by more than eight minutes.

Cincinnati coach Brian Kelly, who has been dealing with injuries at quarterback all season, is uncertain who will go under center tonight. Junior Tony Pike, who took over for incumbent starter Dustin Grutza (season-ending leg injury) in September, returned from a broken left forearm last week against UConn and went 10-for-27 for 136 yards, one TD and one INT, but had to leave the game after a half because of the injury. If Pike is unable to play tonight, redshirt freshman Chazz Anderson (61.3 percent completion rate, 520 yards, 2 TDs, 3 INTs) will likely make his third start of the season for an offense that puts up 27 points and 384 total yards per game.

South Florida has no issues at quarterback, as Grothe has been solid most of the season, completing 66.8 percent of his throws for 1,896 yards with 14 TDs and five INTs. He leads an offense that averages 33.5 points and 425.8 total yards per game.

Cincinnati is on a 4-0 ATS run (3-1 SU) in this rivalry, winning 38-33 last year at South Florida as a 4½-point pup as the Bulls committed an astounding eight turnovers and gave up all 38 points in the first half. Two years ago, the Bearcats claimed a 23-6 home win as a one-point favorite.

The Bulls are in a 2-6 ATS slide overall and are burdened by additional pointspread skids of 0-8 against winning teams and 3-6 as a road chalk. The Bearcats are 2-5 ATS in their last seven games, but the pointspread trends turn positive from there, including 10-3 at home, 6-1-1 after a SU loss, 4-1 on Thursday and 10-4-1 against winning teams.

The over for South Florida is on runs of 11-4-1 overall and 7-3 against winning teams, but the under for Cincinnati is on stretches of 5-1 at home, 6-0 on Thursday and 9-1-1 in October.

ATS ADVANTAGE: CINCINNATI

NBA

Charlotte (0-0, 0-0) at Cleveland (0-1, 1-0 ATS)

The Cavaliers return to Quicken Loans Arena for their home opener following Tuesday’s 90-85 loss at Boston, though they covered as a six-point underdog. LeBron James (22 points) had a decent game, but he missed a couple of key free throws in the final minute, and Cleveland had just three players score in double figures, while Boston had five. The Cavs are now on a 6-0 ATS run dating to last season’s run to the Eastern Conference semifinals.

The Bobcats, playing their season opener, are coming off a 32-50 campaign last year (36-43-3 ATS) which included finishing the season on a 7-5 SU run just to break the 30-win barrier. Charlotte capped 2007-08 in a 3-6 ATS slump.

Cleveland has won seven of the last 10 meetings against the Bobcats, including the last three in a row. However, Charlotte is 5-3 ATS in the last eight battles, though the two teams split the cash in last season’s four contests, with the road team covering each time. The Bobcats are 5-1 ATS on their last six trips to Cleveland, and the underdog is 4-1 ATS in the last five clashes.

Along with the Cavaliers’ current 6-0 ATS run (all against Eastern Conference foes), they are on additional pointspread streaks of 5-0 when playing on one day’s rest and 5-1 at Quicken Loans Arena. Overall at home last year, Cleveland was 32-15 SU, but just 20-27 ATS.

The Bobcats finished last season in ATS ruts of 3-7 against the East and 2-6-1 against teams with a losing record, and they went 11-30 SU (17-22-2 ATS) as a visitor.

The under for Cleveland is on a bevy of tears, including 14-6 overall, 20-7 at home and 13-6 playing on one day’s rest. The under is also 9-3 in Charlotte’s last 12 roadies. However, the over is on a 4-1 overall run for the ‘Cats, and the total has gone high in four of the last five meetings between these two teams.

ATS ADVANTAGE: CLEVELAND

Houston (1-0, 0-1 ATS) at Dallas (0-0, 0-0 ATS

The Mavericks and new coach Rick Carlisle tip off their season at American Airlines Center, hoping to improve on last year’s 52-35 record (38-45-4 ATS). Dallas suffered a second straight first-round playoff exist, getting eliminated by New Orleans in six games, which led to the ouster of coach Avery Johnson. The Mavs ended last season in a 3-7 ATS slide (playoffs included), and while they had one of the league’s best home records at 35-8 (playoffs included), they went just 18-21-4 ATS in their building.

The Rockets opened their season last night at home against Memphis and led by just a single point going into the fourth quarter before breaking things open on the way to an 82-71 victory. However, Houston came up just short as a 12½-point favorite. The Rockies did finish last year on a spread-covering flourish, and despite last night’s non-cover, the team is still 28-14-1 ATS in its last 43 games (playoffs included).

In four head-to-head meetings against Houston last year, Dallas went 3-1 SU and ATS (1-1 SU and ATS at home), and the Mavs are 8-2 SU and ATS in the last 10 clashes in this rivalry. Dallas is 6-1 ATS in the last seven battles overall and 4-1 ATS in the last five at American Airlines Center, but the road team has cashed in four of the last five.

The Mavericks are 39-18-1 ATS in their last 58 games against Southwest Division foes, but they are on ATS skids of 3-7 at home and 3-7 against the Western Conference. The Rockets, meanwhile, are on ATS runs of 24-8-3 in Thursday contests, 5-3 inside the division and 7-3 in the second night of back-to-back games. Finally, the Rockets last season went 25-19 SU and 25-18-1 ATS on the highway.

Despite last night’s non-cover against Memphis, the SU winner is still 15-2 ATS in Houston’s last 17 games overall and 18-1 ATS in its last 19 on the highway.

The under cashed in five of Dallas’ last six home games last season, and the under for Houston is on a 9-3 overall run, with last night’s win over the Grizzlies staying well below the posted price.

ATS ADVANTAGE: DALLAS and UNDER

New Orleans (1-0, 0-1 ATS) at Phoenix (1-0 SU and ATS)

The Hornets, coming off a surprising season in which they reached the Western Conference semifinals, opened the 2008-09 campaign with Wednesday’s 108-103 victory at Golden State, though they came up short as a seven-point road chalk. Going back to last year’s seven-game playoff series loss to San Antonio, New Orleans is mired in a 1-5 ATS slump.

The Suns, who were ousted by the Spurs in the first round of last season’s playoffs, got a small measure of revenge in last night’s season opener, winning 103-98 in San Antonio as a one-point road underdog. Amare Stoudemire (22 points), Steve Nash (13) and Shaquille O’Neal (15 points) all scored in double figures for Phoenix, with Nash chipping in a game-high 13 assists and O’Neal contributing a game-high 13 rebounds. The Suns are on a 16-5 roll in regular-season action (13-7-1 ATS), including 9-1 at home (8-2 ATS).

New Orleans went 4-0 SU and ATS in four clashes with Phoenix last season, winning and covering the first three games in the underdog role. The Hornets are on additional ATS runs in this rivalry of 6-0 overall and 9-2-1 in Phoenix, and the underdog is 5-1 ATS in the last six contests.

The Hornets are a sterling 26-7-2 ATS in their last 35 games when playing on no rest and 22-7 ATS in their last 29 against the Pacific Division, but they are 1-6 ATS in their last seven roadies. The Suns ended last season in a 1-4-1 ATS slump when playing on no rest, but in addition to their 8-2 ATS run at the U.S. Airways Center, they’re 17-6-2 in their last 25 against Western Conference opponents.

The under for Charlotte is on streaks of 6-3-1 overall, 4-2 against the Pacific Division, 6-3-1 in the West and 5-3 on the highway, and in this rivalry, the under is on tears of 9-3 overall and 9-3 in Phoenix.

THE GOLD SHEET

*South Florida 28 - CINCINNATI 20—Well-coached Bearcats usually a
tough nut to crack as underdog, and home-lovin’ USF has been sub-par play vs. spread on road lately. But with Cincy’s QB situation muddled (see Special Ticker), HUGE edge under center possessed by Bulls with jr. gunslinger Grothe might ultimately be too much for host to overcome. The überconfident Grothe hit 11 different receivers for his 344 YP at Louisville last week, while bumbling Bearcat offense was 0 of 14 on third down during ugly loss at UConn. CINCINNATI over S Florida by 1
These two teams were expected to contend for the Big East championship
but following last week’s depressing defeats, tonight’s game takes on an
air of desperation. USF fl opped as a road favorite at Louisville, done in by
109 yards worth of penalties and a record-low EIGHT yards rushing. Cincy
also took the bullet as road chalk at UConn, rushing for just 30 yards as the Huskies broke open a close game with 20 points in the 4th quarter. The Bulls, who were as high as No. 10 in the rankings, have now dropped two of their past three games and would have been a SMART BOX ‘Play On’ here had they showed up wearing the dog collar. They’ll arrive as favorites instead, so we’ll gladly take the points with a Bearcats team that has covered four straight in the series, winning SU as road dogs at Tampa last year. Check the status of Cincinnati QB Tony Pike – he started against Connecticut for the fi rst time since breaking his non-throwing arm back in September but did not return after halftime.

10/30/2008 (305) S FLORIDA at (306) CINCINNATI
Thursday night has been home team or home underdog night in college football once again. The trend is a continuance of recent years and one that StatFox Doug focused on earlier in the season in one of his feature pieces. In this Thursday’s ESPN showdown, we have another high quality home underdog, Cincinnati, as it welcomes South Florida to town. Here is a good Money Line StatFox Super Situation indicating how the short week of rest will benefit the hosts: Play Against - A road team vs. the money line (S FLORIDA) - off a loss against a conference rival, when playing on a Thursday. (31-7 over the last 10 seasons.) (81.6%, +26.2 units. Rating = 4*). Both teams come in off of road losses. The Bearcats are 6-0 ATS in that situation over the last three seasons. In that same time span, they are also a perfect 6-0 ATS against teams with a winning percentage
of 75% or better. Outplay Factor number says Cincy should be favored after applying home field advantage. I agree.

Charlotte Bobcats at Cleveland Cavaliers
Thursday, October 30th, 7:05 ET

You have to like Cleveland tonight considering that Charlotte has never won in this building in their exsistence and due to the fact that the Bobcats just went through an awful, winless preseason. Expect some growing pains for this young team in the first year under new HC Larry Brown, meanwhile, the Cavs are 34-18 ATS at home coming off a cover where they team lost straight up as an underdog. King James and company win big tonight.

Reason: Something gotta give in this one tonight. The Wings are 7-1-1 on the year and are a perfect 5-0 on the road. The Sharks are 8-2 on the year and a perfcet 5-0 at home. One very good thing for San Jose is they are catching the Wings on back to back night's and their 4th game in 6 night's so expect them to be a little tired tonight. San Jose is 22-7 in their last 29 at home and will take advantage of a tired Detroit team. Play on the San Jose Sharks -.

50 Units
So Florida (-2½) over Cincinnati
7:30 PM -- Nippert Stadium
There are many reasons I upgraded this game from 10 units to 50 units but the biggest of those was the simple fact Cincinnati has no quarterback, with the first three guys on the depth chart out with injuries. This means the Bearcats are down to playing the scrubs at quarterback, and that won't get it done against a very good South Florida team still stinging from a 24-20 loss at Louisville on Saturday. To illustrate the decline in Cincinnati's offense since it lost all its quarterback, please note in the first three games of the season the team averaged 37 points per game. In their last four the Bearcats have averaged 19. If one digs deeper, one sees that defenses know the limitations of the offense and key on that. No fact better illustrates this than Cincinnati is 0-for-25 on its last 25 third down conversions. Cincinnati (5-2) will most certainly come to play, and will try to win the game with a good defense, but South Florida (6-2) has all the tools to overcome everything and get the money.

The Rockets have traditionally been an excellent under team and they know the Mavericks as well as anyone. 305 South Florida/Cincinnati Over 51 +1.10 (4 Unit Play)-South Florida is currently bowl eligible but stands at only 1-2 in the Big East Conference and a loss here tonight pretty much ends their bid to win the conference title this year. Cincinnati meanwhile is 1-1 in the Big East Conference but 5-2 on the year and a win here tonight makes them bowl eligible as well as a contender still for the conference title. South Florida has really been struggling to defend the pass this year and last week allowed Louisville to gain 10.1 YPPA and two weeks ago were also ripped by a Pittsburgh squad through the air. I know that Cincinnati struggled last week through the air against Connecticut but the weather conditions were not great and then they lost starting QB Pike in the first half but backup QB Anderson performed well and actually played well the past couple of weeks in the two starting QB's absences. Cincinnati's defense has actually performed pretty well all year but the only truly outstanding offense they have met this year is Oklahoma's and while I am not comparing South Florida's offense to Oklahoma they are capable of putting up some numbers tonight against the Bearcat defense. These two teams could both score at least 28 points tonight and if that happens this game easily cashes on the Over and I think that is the safe play here tonight. The public seems to be betting this game Under so you may get a better number as the game approaches. The weather should not be a factor this evening and I look for some fireworks on ESPN tonight.

LAS VEGAS TECH REPORT (LVTR) SELECTION: SOUTH FLORIDA -2.5 (COLLEGE FOOTBALL)

Indian Cowboy Cavs/Bobcats Under 184 (POD).

I like the Under here for a couple of reasons. For one, I think the Cavs have a great shot at blowing ou the Bobcats at home. Secon of all, I just don't think that the Bobcats are in sync yet. After all, they were 0-8 this year in the preseason and Larry Brown teams take some time to get in rhythm. The Bobcats lack depth to in their taem as they are struggling to keep up with teams when they have their reserves in. So, why am I not taking the Cavs to blowout the Bobcats off a loss? Well, I'd much rather take the under here considering that the the Bobcats should play decent defense and I hate laying that manny points period especially in the NBA. Look for a game here in which the Bobcats are ineffective, this will likely be a blowout, but look for a game tha goes into the high 170's. I have this game at 94-80 for what it's worth and the 8 point difference is enough for me to make this a selection.

Note: IC has lost 6 POD's in a row so use caution

Here are today's NHL Picks for Thursday, October 30, 2008

Ron's Straight Up Record: 77 wins 54 losses for (59%)
*Note: Ron went 11-4 (SU) on Saturday night and 13-0 (SU) on Saturday, October 28th for a combined Saturday record of 24-4!
Atlanta vs. NY Rangers
NHL hockey stats VS. Free NHL Picks
(5.5) (-230)

Ron's Comment: Trust me, I've been trying to find the 4th corner of this jigsaw puzzle myself and I'm having a hard time typing this comment out! However, of all the three seven o'clock games to put first on the rotation; why did the bookmakers put this one? Trap game? I think so, big letdown factor for the Rangers 4-2 win over their inter-state division rivals the Islanders and let's face it, the Thrashers are coming off a 7-0 lost to the Flyers, so who's really giving them a shot here? Rangers are coming down in class here and what better way to get traded off a bad hockey team they to play well in front of Glenn Sather and the NY Media.

Prediction: Atlanta 3 NY Rangers 2
NY Islanders vs. Philadelphia
NHL hockey stats VS. Free NHL Picks
(5.5) (-200)

Ron's Comment: I look at this Islanders line up and I just don't see secondary scoring and you can't depend on old veterans like Weight and Guerin anymore in this young kids league who are flying by these older veterans. Goaltending is an issue and they have an AHL defense at best. Flyers are now 3-0 without Briere.

Prediction: Philadelphia 4 NY Islanders 2
Tampa Bay vs. Buffalo
NHL hockey stats VS. Free NHL Picks
(5.5) (-175)

Ron's Comment: Big letdown game for the Lightning, as they put all their energy and focus on beating Toronto on Tuesday, they might have burned out their top line. Tampa Better get some secondary scoring, because Melrose is going to burn out his top line and his goalie can't continue to face over 40 shots a game. Look for Buffalo to rebound after their fatigue game vs. Ottawa. Buffalo had no legs or energy vs. Ottawa and they've been the recipient of a bad schedule to start the season. Close game, but the Sabres pull it out in the third period.

Prediction: Buffalo 4 Tampa Bay 3
Ottawa vs. Florida
hockey betting VS. NHL predictions
(-115) (5.5)

Ron's Comment: The Panthers beat Ottawa 3-1 last week in Ottawa; their goaltender Anderson was outstanding, so why start Vokoun tonight? Sens are 11-4 SU in their last 15 trips to Miami and it looks like Spezza is rolling!

Prediction: Ottawa 3 Florida 1
Montreal vs. Minnesota
hockey betting VS. NHL predictions
(-125) (5.5)

Ron's Comment: As predicted yesterday, the Wild had their minds on the Habs tonight and Montreal is starting to look like a team with the Century year pressure! Montreal needed a penalty shot and a shootout to be the Canes on Monday and looked rusty vs. Anaheim on Saturday. Plus, the players know their coaches (Lemaire and Tremblay) always want to beat Montreal.

Prediction: Minnesota 3 Montreal 2
Edmonton vs. Nashville
hockey betting VS. NHL predictions
(5.5) (-130)

Ron's Comment: Roloson was outstanding in the Oilers 1-0 lost to the Bruins on Tuesday, so look for him to play well again tonight, as he's playing for a trade out of Edmonton these days.

Prediction: Edmonton 4 Nashville 3
Carolina vs. St.Louis
hockey betting VS. NHL predictions
(5.5) (-125)

Ron's Comment: When you have a hot goalie, you ride him out! Cam Ward has been keeping his team in games and they are off tough lost over Montreal. St.Louis has been off 4 days, so they could come out rusty and they are starting their 3rd or 4th starter in Mason.

Prediction: Carolina 4 St.Louis 2
Boston vs. Calgary
hockey betting VS. NHL predictions
(5.5) (-145)

Ron's Comment: Julien going to ride his hot goaltender out and how can you blame him? Thomas is coming off two 1-0 shutout wins, but here's the bad news, Kiprusoff is coming off his own 3-0 shutout. The Flames are 4-1-1 vs. the Bruins since '97 and this is Boston's 3rd game in 4 nights.

Prediction: Calgary 3 Boston 2
Columbus vs. Colorado
hockey betting VS. NHL predictions
(5.5) (-173)

Ron's Comment: Andrew Raycroft is expected to get the nod tonight for the Avalanche and he's 2-0 in his spot starts this season. The Blue Jackets are 1-13 SU vs. Colorado at the Pepsi Center since entering the league. Not a good spot for Hitch's boys.

Prediction: Colorado 5 Columbus 2
Pittsburgh vs. Phoenix
hockey betting VS. NHL predictions
(5.5) (-115)

Ron's Comment: The difference in this game might be defense. When I've reviewing each team's line ups, the one thing that stands out is the Coyotes are a bit deeper at the Blue line then the Pens. Pittsburgh is 2-5-2 SU vs. the Coyotes in Phoenix and they are getting a rested up Coyotes team tonight, as they haven't played in 4 days. Rust could be a factor at the beginning, but it seems when they score, they score in bunches. Not a good betting spot for the Penguins here; they are 3-12-1 SU as a Road Underdog - Vs Non Conference Opponent - Coming off a Road loss as a Underdog and scored 1 or less goals FOR in their last game.

Prediction: Phoenix 4 Pittsburgh 3
Detroit vs. San Jose
hockey betting VS. NHL predictions
(5.5) (-145)

Ron's Comment: The Red Wings have played too much hockey of late and this is their 3rd game in 4 nights. Conklin is the penciled starter tonight for Detroit and San Jose is 18-4-1 (SU) since 1998 as Home Favorite - Total is 5.5 on 1 days rest and they are coming off a Home win as a Favorite.

Prediction: San Jose 3 Detroit 2
Vancouver vs. LA Kings
hockey betting VS. NHL predictions
(-110) (5.5)

Ron's Comment:Luongo has looked like a regular goalie thus far this season and you have to start wondering if wearing the C is too much for the ex-Val D'Or Foreur (Jr. Team) net minder? The Kings have really impressed me this season, I didn't think they would be this competitive, but if they can find a way to pepper more shots on goal, they could make it interesting down the stretch. The Kings are 7-4-1 (SU) Home Underdog, before a conference game on 2 days rest.

Prediction: LA Kings 4 Vancouver 3

Mr A (Sports Rumble) 0 for 3 last night...he's terrible and the best fade you will see in the NBA IMO. When he and Lang are on the same side it's more deadly than the Perfect Storm.

Charlotte (0-0) at Cleveland (0-1) Cleveland Cavaliers - 10
Houston (1-0) at Dallas (0-0) Dallas Mavericks -5
New Orleans (1-0) at Phoenix (1-0) New Orleans Hornets +3½

Houston Rockets (1-0) at Dallas Mavericks (0-0)
Dallas is 6-1 in home openers and has won 10 of its last 12 against Houston at American Airlines Center. Go with the Mavericks to continue their dominance in this series.

triple-dime bet504 DAL -4.0 (-110) BetUS vs 503 HOU
Analysis:
New coaches with capable teams have certainly made an impression early on in the 2008/09 season....I expect this to continue tonight in a big way with the Dallas Mavericks and Rick Carlisle.

Dallas welcomes in a Houston Rockets team that's coming off a home-opening win against Memphis - but it was far from impressive. Playmaking forward Tracy McGrady will certainly see limited action tonight, as he's far from 100% and the situation calls for far fewer minutes than usual.

The Mavericks are still one of the elite Western Conference teams and will now have a full season with point guard Jason Kidd to make things right.

Being one of the best home teams in the NBA has its advantages and the winning team in this series is a PERFECT 10-0 ATS in the last ten meetings - managing to cover the number by more than 13 points on average.

Lay the points and cash with a hungry home team tonight!

50 DIME Big East Game of the Week

South Florida (50) at Cincinnati (+3) - 7:30 p.m. EST

Money pouring in on South Florida. A line un-changed. An overrated defense in South Florida and a QB prone to interceptions playing in a hostile frigid stadium. I smell "trap".
I know USF is ranked and playing in an all important game coming off a game they should not have lost last week but all these factors have me thinking Bearcats and the home dog upset tonight.

Just look at the series between these two conference rivals. The home team is 4-1 SU with the average win by 13 points. The Bearcats have covered four straight and are coming off a win on the Bulls home field last year in a game marred by 8 USF turnovers.

These warm blooded Florida boys used to playing in spacious Raymond James Stadium now travel to the Bearcats humble home in frigid Cincinnati. The raucous Bearcats crown and the freezing cold weather will affect this Bulls team much like it did Houston when they faced Marshall in West Virginia on Tuesday.

A lot of speculation about Bearcats QB Tony Pike playing tonight after leaving last week. Word around the Bearcats campus is Pike will see action. Groethe lit up Louisville's weak secondary last week but he will not have an easy time this week. The Bearcats will limit the struggling USF running game and keep the pressure on Groehte. A couple of mistakes by the senior signal caller and the Bearcats can win this game outright. With Mike Ford not 100% I just can't see USF getting it going tonight. The Bulls are overrated and both teams are competing for a solid bowl game. Look for the Bearcats to pull it off again in 2008 as they upset the visiting Bulls tonight.

Take the points and cash in with this easy winner on Cincinnati.

But what happenned with this guy...did he screw over our fellow brethren? or just go on a bad losing streak--a big difference in my opinion...

Barney -- I agree there is a very big difference. I could handle a losing streak, it happens inevitably. You need to expect it sometimes and limit your losses as much as possible in those circumstances.

However this RDS guy gave out two false plays last night ( NJ Under and Minnesota) that he knew would be posted on this forum. I and I'm sure many others tailed these plays thinking they were his top plays and both lost. Now he comes out and admits they were "herrings" given out to resolve his own personal issues with someone. Totally unacceptable. Especially here at the very place that blew him up (in his own mind).
That shit just can't fly here and goes completely against the goal of this whole forum, which is to work together to profit as much as possible from the books.

Jersey hasn't been playing much "D" of late but off 2 loses to Philly, see them coming back w/renewed vigor especially in their own zone. Can't lay the 210 but take the under 5 puks for .5*
Minny has played very well this year in front of Backstrom, Turco not. Minny +125 for .5* and over 5 pucks for .5*
pod when do you see me turn my back on the Wings @ -125, I know the Ducks have their pp going, beat the Habs @ the Belle Centre and have generally been playing good hockey. Wings are still the elite of the NHL even w/o Franzen. .75* on Det. -125.

2Dimes watch your mouth. That's a friend of both of ours that your talking that way about, not a tout that scams people daily for their money. You said it yourself, nobody and i mean nobody could beat him at the end of last hockey season. He's had a horrible week, tried to bail himself out and it didnt work. Betting and Life are full of ups and downs as we both know. You chose to play the side he chose he didnt force you. Give the guy a break, especially you 2Dimes we both know he doesnt deserve to be talked about like this. Plus when he goes on the run we know will happen, your gonna feel like an even bigger asshole.

I'm not trying to start problems but this needed to be said.

ALL touts are scumbags! If they know so much and are so wonderful why do they need anyone's money for picks? Why not play your their own plays and make a nice living? I'll tell you why.....because 99% don't know shit! It's all smoke and mirrors.

Anyone who followed my minn/dall under in nhl last night i do apologize. out of the last 15 or 16 nhl totals that was the second one i missed. i am going to continue but knock 'em down a few units.

He has been on a bad streak and did go 1-3 last nt., just wanted to flush out the rat or rats by saying otherwise. I guess we know where he stands with Chip and 2 dimes. Is generally a good capper and is a good and honest man. And 2 dimes, he always spoke so highly of you, will be glad to tell him all the SHIT you poured on him. Fade his plays if you want but don't talk shit.

RDS "ghosting". I'm telling you this is RDS. Look at past post from both and dont tell me they are not alike.

South Florida vs. Cincinnati U (NCAAF) - 7:45 PM EDT
Selected Point Spread: 2.5/-102 Cincinnati

South Florida has proven to be mildly overrated with neither the offense nor the defense as good as expected. The offensive line had been pass-blocking better, but when RT Marc Dile went down against Louisville, the flood gates opened and quarterback Matt Grothe was sacked a season-high five times. The Bulls also were held to a school-record low of eight net yards rushing. Cincinnati was blasted by UConn last week and has serious quarterback issues having to make two offensive gameplans for whomever can play. Off a loss, the Bearcats 6-0 ATS record off a road loss over the last three seasons and 5-1-1 ATS after failing to score 20 points. Both Big East teams are faced with must win situations, with South Florida 0-8 ATS in last eight meetings with teams with winning records, with Cincinnati 10-4-1 ATS in the same spot. Bearcats claw to win.

South Florida -2.5 over Cincinnati
This is a tough game to wager on tonight. South Florida has not looked sharp and Cincinnati has a ton of QB issues. South Florida does have a good QB in Matt Grothe and for four quarters its going to be tough for Cincy to keep up with the Bulls offense. Cincinnati is a good home team, but they would need to play perfect defense and to get a lot of turnovers to win this game. I don't see it happening. Take South Florida.
