Student Jennifer Rahal, of Parma Heights, whose class was canceled today, was working on her art work in the coffee shop in the basement of the building when the call went out for more guests.

Will we have to pay his WH salary while he runs for office? It was already announced he was leaving DC after the Nov elections. Will we pay the bill while he flies back and forth to Chicago to campaign. Ugh!

Obama spoke emotionally at an *AFL-CIO rally*...

Obama spoke emotionally at an AFL-CIO rally on Labor Day about unemployed construction workers. A “lot of those folks, they had lost their jobs in manufacturing and went into construction; now they’ve lost their jobs again,” he said. “It doesn’t do anybody any good when so many hardworking Americans have been idled for months, even years, at a time when there is so much of America that needs rebuilding.”
But here’s the rub: Not all workers are equal in Obama’s eyes. And most of them will remain “idled” by the Democrats’ own design. The key is E.O. 13502, a union-friendly executive order signed by Obama in his first weeks in office, which essentially forces contractors who bid on large-scale public construction projects worth $25 million or more to submit to union representation for its employees.
The blunt instrument used to give unions a leg up is the “project labor agreement (PLA),” which in theory sets reasonable pre-work terms and conditions — but in practice, requires contractors to hand over exclusive bargaining control; to pay inflated, above-market wages and benefits; and to fork over dues money and pension funding to corrupt, cash-starved labor organizations. These anti-competitive agreements undermine a fair bidding process on projects that locked-out, nonunion laborers are funding with their own tax dollars. And these PLAs benefit the privileged few at the expense of the vast majority: In the construction indust

The Time Has Indeed Come!
Governors of 35 states have already filed suit against the Federal Government for imposing unlawful burdens upon them. It only takes 38 (of the 50) States to convene a Constitutional Convention.

This will take less than thirty seconds to read. If you agree, please pass it on.

An idea whose time has come!

For too long we have been too complacent about the workings of Congress. Many citizens had no idea that members of Congress could retire with the same pay after only one term, that they specifically exempted themselves from many of the laws they have passed (such as being exempt from any fear of prosecution for sexual harassment) while ordinary citizens must live under those laws. The latest was to exempt themselves from the Healthcare Reform ... in all of its forms. Somehow, that doesn't seem logical. We do not have an elite that is above the law.
I truly don't care if they are Democrat, Republican, Independent or whatever. The self-serving must stop.
A Constitutional Convention - this is a good way to do that. It is an idea whose time has come. And, with the advent of modern communication, the process can be moved along with incredible speed. There is talk out there that the "government" doesn't care what the people think. That is irrelevant. It is incumbent on the population to address elected officials to the wrongs afflicted against the populace...you and me. Think about this... The 26th amendment (granting the right to vote for 18 year-olds) took only 3 months & 8 days to be ratified! Why? Simple! The people demanded it. That was in 1971...before computers, before e-mail, before cell phones, etc. Of the 27 amendments to the Constitution, seven (7) took 1 year or less to become the law of the land...all because of public pressure.

I'm asking each addressee to forward this Email to a minimum of twenty people on their Address list; in turn ask each of those to do likewise.

In three days, most people in The United States of America will have the message. This is one proposal that really should be passed around.

Proposed 28th Amendment to the United States Constitution:
"Congress shall make no law that applies to the citizens of the United States that does not apply equally to the Senators and/or Representatives; and, Congress shall make no law that applies to the Senators and/or Representatives that does not apply equally to the citizens of the United States ."

http://www.nytimes.com/2010/09/06/op...06krugman.html

1938 in 2010

Here’s the situation: The U.S. economy has been crippled by a financial crisis. The president’s policies have limited the damage, but they were too cautious, and unemployment remains disastrously high. More action is clearly needed. Yet the public has soured on government activism, and seems poised to deal Democrats a severe defeat in the midterm elections.

The president in question is Franklin Delano Roosevelt; the year is 1938. Within a few years, of course, the Great Depression was over. But it’s both instructive and discouraging to look at the state of America circa 1938 — instructive because the nature of the recovery that followed refutes the arguments dominating today’s public debate, discouraging because it’s hard to see anything like the miracle of the 1940s happening again.
-------------------------------------------------

@):@@):@@):@

OMG, what a fucking retard

1) what happened within a few years of 1938 that ended the great depression? It was World War Fucking Two, not some failed stimulus bill.

2) if you want to compare Obama to FDR, then this is 1934 and the country has at least six more years of suffering to endure

he's suggesting that Obama didn't spend enough, that;s right, 1 trillion dollars was not enough, and he needs to spend more. Furthermore, he cites WWII has proof that government programs stimulate the economy. Evidently, the fact that Hoover & FDR did exactly what he espouses, and they failed miserably for a combined 11 years until the advent of WWII, just like Obama's stimulus failed miserably in 2009, is simply lost on him. He's either a liar or he's delusional, but he's nothing about being smart.

how do people so stupid get such a forum? he doesn't have an ounce of common sense and less know how, he's simply an intellectually deficit fool.

Three tennis fans involved in a brawl Thursday night have been banned from attending the U.S. Open through the 2012 event.
Banned from the grounds were Joseph Pedeville, a 27-year-old who was reportedly yelling obscenities which led to an altercation with 49-year-old Tracey Falco and her 75-year-old father Lawrence Burnett. The video of the fight, which included Falco slapping Pedeville and Burnett falling down several rows of seats, was a television and Internet sensation following the Thursday night altercation.
The fight broke out in the upper deck of Arthur Ashe Stadium during a match between Novak Djokovic and Philipp Petzschner. The two stopped playing for a time before order was restored.
The New York Post said it tracked down Burnett at his home in East Stroudsburg, Pa., on Friday, where he said: "I'm in a lot of pain. I was defending my daughter. The guy is a jerk." Following the altercation, the three fans were taken to a police station in Queens, where they were given trespass warnings. The ban through Sept. 30, 2012 came on Friday.
