• Kansas City became the first team to come back from at least four runs down in the eighth inning or later of a winner-take-all playoff game, according to the Elias Sports Bureau.

• According to the TBS broadcast, Lester was 85-1 in his career when given a lead of three runs or more. He was handed a four-run lead on Tuesday, and although he was in line for the win when he exited, he could only watch the Royals pull close in the eighth and ultimately leave him with a no-decision.

so many what if's in that game too for the A's

what if Soto doesn't hurt himself on Butler's boneheaded play? do the Royals steal all those bases? especially that steal of third? Soto probably doesn't drop the pitch out either in the 12th inning. Norris is actually the goat for the game, although most won't recognize that

what if Crisp doesn't get hurt? does Fulds catch that 12th inning triple in left? the one Gomes actually came close to catching? I think he very well may have. With Fulds and Crisp out there, I doubt it turns into a triple

of course, the entire game would have played out differently, especially if one team changed their catcher, so who the hell really knows what would have happened. Suffice to say, that was an historic game on many levels (statistically speaking)

Yost deserved to lose that game, but was bailed out

I'm just glad September is over :)

The Royals just refused to lose.

It would be nice to get that kind of effort every game in the regular season with teams you wager on

Ya know what? At 7-3 going into the 8th and Lester on the bump, I glanced at the live line for KC ML and it was huge. I thought about just throwing $5 on it for shits and giggles thinking there's no way on earth it would hit. I'm pissed off at myself now.
