The married stars of the "Real Housewives of New Jersey" are due for a dose of unscripted reality.

Teresa and Giuseppe "Joe" Giudice are scheduled to be sentenced Thursday on conspiracy and bankruptcy fraud charges in federal court in Newark.
The couple had pleaded guilty in March, admitting that they hid assets from bankruptcy creditors and submitted phony loan applications to get some $5 million in mortgages and construction loans.

Under federal sentencing guidelines, Joe Giudice faces a potential sentence of 37 to 46 months and Teresa Giudice could get 21 to 27 months, though the judge could deviate up or down from those ranges. Lawyers for Teresa Giudice, 42, remain hopeful that she may be spared a prison sentence and instead receive probation, noting the need to care for the couple's four young daughters.

Joe Giudice, who is an Italian citizen, could be deported upon completion of a prison term. His attorney has said that Giudice came to the U.S. as an infant and wasn't aware that he wasn't an American citizen.

Both Giudices pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud and three types of bankruptcy fraud. Joe Giudice, 43, also pleaded guilty to failing to file a tax return for 2004, though he acknowledged he didn't file taxes on income of approximately $1 million between 2004 and 2008.

Teresa Giudice is set to learn her fate for a federal fraud conviction, facing a judge on Thursday to receive her sentence.
Teresa and Joe arrived in federal court on Thursday at 9 a.m., with Teresa wearing a black pant suit and her hair down.
Under federal guidelines, Joe’s recommended sentence was 37 to 46 months while Teresa’s was 27 months. Under their plea for three counts of bankruptcy fraud, the couple was also required to pay $200,000 to the government at sentencing.
During sentencing, the judge admonished the Giudices for lying about their assets.

Bad thing about serving federal is you do the whole time you're sentenced too.

i think its 85-90%

I was thinking the bare minimum was 90% of the sentence. Either way, it's still obviously a big difference from state crimes where you might do well below 50% of your sentence.

[h=1]Real Housewives' star Teresa Giudice sentenced to 15 months in prison; husband got 41 months[/h]
EWARK, N.J. (AP) — The married stars of the "Real Housewives of New Jersey" are trading the drama of reality TV for prison.

Teresa Giudice was sentenced Thursday in federal court in Newark to 15 months in prison on conspiracy and bankruptcy charges while her husband, Giuseppe "Joe" Giudice, was sentenced to 41 months.

Each was ordered to pay $414,000 in restitution.

The judge said Teresa will serve her sentence first so Joe can stay home with the couple's four children.

Teresa Giudice cried as she apologized in court before her sentencing. Joe Giudice also apologized and said he had disgraced many people.

The couple walked into court holding hands, but once inside the courtroom, U.S. District Court Judge Esther Salas slammed them for not disclosing all their assets in a presentencing report. She said they didn't include all the recreational vehicles they own.

The judge gave Joe Guidice credit for helping people rebuild after Superstorm Sandy and other storms.

The couple had pleaded guilty in March, admitting they hid assets from bankruptcy creditors and submitted phony loan applications to get some $5 million in mortgages and construction loans.

Under federal sentencing guidelines, Joe Giudice faced a potential sentence of 37 to 46 months and Teresa Giudice could have gotten 21 to 27 months.
