72 Dolphins Pop Champagne Early

Assuming Mercury Morris isn't smoking crack right now, is this the earliest the Dolphins have ever popped it?

I consider the PATS season of 16-0 equaling what Miami did.
Ever since the Pats went 16-0 I think what these guys do every year is pointless and kind of holding on to something that does not really exist.

But any excuse for old friends to meet up and drink is ok I guess.

Also the Colts pretty much shit on what Miami did by resting their starters in week 16 vs the Jets back in '09. I was really surprised that wasn't a bigger story at the time that a team could make history and try to go 19-0 and just basically laughed at it and said we'll take the rest.

I think since then the 19-0 thing kinda lost its luster a little but never know maybe it could pick back up again. I remember in '11 with the Packers I think it wasn't 1/2 the story it was when NE was trying.

I can see how people think its stupid but dolphins fans love it. The most impressive thing about 17-0 is that the dolphins played the steelers for the afc championship and the game was held in pittsburgh.

I can see why old school Phins fans who lived through it would love it. However it legit happened over 40 years ago so I can't imagine why anyone under 50 would care. That would be like me hyping up how great Ted Williams was if someone came close to hitting .400 or something
