I think icing the kicker actually helps the kicker

I have no way to prove this but if I was a kicker I would like the extra 45 seconds to slow the game down.

I dont think it makes a difference either way, it just makes head coaches feel smarter than they are

Pretty sure the numbers show it does indeed help the kicker. Just another point showing most coaches clueless when it comes to anything involving simple math.

Read in 2011 the icing helped the kickers. Then stats in 2012 showed that icing worked. So who knows. All I know is it annoys the hell out of me.

If I was a special team coach or something, i would start gathering statistics on which kicker gets affected the most by being iced.

I think icing the kicker is psychological and only a certain personality would be bothered by it.

When coaches used to call it right before they kicked, ithink it iced some kickers. Especially if they made the one right before the timeout. It works both ways though.

Hayes also tore up a first down marker on the sidelines that day...I also saw him reach out and punch a Clemson player one time...The dude had some serious issues...LOL
