Teaser Question/Help

A buddy of mine asked me a question and I don't know the answer. I told him to refer back to the sportsbook in question of which he said he was getting the run around from.

Perhaps in the meantime someone here can provide some insight.

He bet a 3 team 6 point teaser on the following

Bengals from -7 to -1
Chargers from -7 to -1
Seahawks from -8 to -2

He entered to bet 100 to win 160

Upon confirmation the 100 he entered changed to 109 to win 160.

From my understanding he has or had been in contact with the sportsbook regarding this and they claim they tested his account and found no issues. I guess it has been going back and forth with no resolve and he sent screen shots which he forwarded to me and they want browser info and other technical information.

For the heck of it, I played his teaser at one of my sportsbooks and had no issues wagering 100 to win 160.

The book he is having this issue is betonline.

Perhaps someone that has an account with funds there can test to see if they get the same result as he or the correct result. I would do it but lost my Bonus Play wager funds in NCAA action last Saturday and I don't feel like depositing there just to test.

Pretty odd set of circumstances.

Thanks

Idk But if it's not resolved he could get 10 from red bull and call it a wash

One of the lines he teased down might not have been -110.
if one of the games was -7 -120 some books require you to lay extra juice to make up for it.
Im 90% sure this is the case in this situation

But Chop, shouldn't that have only reduced the payout, not increase the amount he wagered...???

The 100 for 160 is based on three -110 lines
If any line is more or less then -110 the risk gets adjusted.

Its the same exact thing with a parlay.

3 team parlays typically pay 6 to 1 based on three -110 lines.
The 6/1 gets adjusted up or down based on the sides going off -110

Bet online gives the customer the option to input money risked or money to win.

The ops friend entered 160 in the money win column so the software adjusted the money risked to 109.

Does he have a screenshot of the wager ? With the 9 being next to 0 on a keypad it sounds like he just did a fat finger typo. ???

^ never mind that , if it was a typo it would have paid more.

...btw does bol have different rules for nfl and college teasers ? i thought a 3 team 6 pointer paid 9/5 , should be 100/180.

He plays teasers all the time, I don't think I've ever seen a payout chart for teasers only parlays.

In this situation the "risk" amount should remain unchanged, the "to win" is what changes.
Unless he puts 160 in the "to win" box.

Edit: nm I see you covered that

+1

Seems this is what happened. Extra juice on one pick.

Unfortunately you do not see the money adjustment until you press the submit button. Then on the confirm page BetOnline adjusts he cost for each team that crosses the 3 or 7.
So their teaser odds end up being bad.
