I know this is a Costa Rica forum but I figure some of you may have visited Nicaragua and have some stories. I'm thinking about stopping by there on my way down to Costa Rica the next time I visit.

I hear the people are friendly, the US dollar goes a long way and it's pretty safe.

Mods, if this is in the wrong forum please move.

Got a feeling that some book will move there eventually......

Nicaragua is the 2nd poorest nation in the area after Haiti. I would think a book could get some workers for less money. I know Costa Rica has a good education system. I don't know about Nicaragua. Would they make good workers?

Then there is the government. The Nica government would have to be accommodating to the sports books if they moved there.

Not a chance , infrastructure is orders of magnitude inferior to anything you consider acceptable

their corruption levels is orders of magnitude more....(this can play in favor or against you ... of course)

knowledge of English also totally subpar

Yeah, I meant to ask about how well they speak English. I've read where they accept US dollars for a lot of purchases because of a former presence of Americans so I thought they may have a lot of people who speak English. I guess not. Thanks wolfie.

My advice to you is to start drinking heavily.

by that I meant to get a large scale operation going but if I have to stand corrected I will

what big companies (or even small shops) are operating there with local staff?

aside from the distance there are other countries where they could operate with 1st world (kind of) infrastructure and 3rd world operating expenses (Eastern Europe for example)
