What's it like?

I have a friend that is doing his bachelor party there. Going to be 10 guys. We are all Nationals fans so we wanted to stay close to their Spring Training complex. Someone told me staying in Cocoa Beach is going to be our best bet, because is was more of a "party" town compared to say Melbourne or Cape Canaveral. Where are the places to party there? Any hotel recommendations?

My buddy said Cocoa has great gentleman's clubs.

Cocoa is run down, blue collar. There's a big Air Force Base (Patrick) nearby, which is probably why there are strip clubs. The surf there is the best on the Florida coast, but there isn't much in night life. Sure, a few bars here and there but not like there's a "party district" or anything. Very affordable beach front living though....

Coach is dead on. I live about 40 minutes to the south. It's fine i guess but don't go in expecting some big blowout bachelor party. There is a few decent strip clubs. Most are fairly loose with the rules, but in general the chicks aren't super hot or anything. Tampa would be a much better bachelor party town. Orlando is a way better party town but the strip clubs are shit if thats your thing. I'm not saying you can't have a decent time in cocoa. Hell day 1 of my 3 day bachelor party was in cocoa just 2 months ago. I'm simply saying don't go into it with the expectation of some night you can't forget party. As far as rooms, depends what you're looking for. You have your 15 story hotels overlooking the ocean if you want. Personally a decent little hotel that's nothing fancy that I've stayed at a few times is called Wakulla suites. Maybe 1 mile from the strip clubs and every room is a 2 bedroom, living room and full kitchen and is usually $80-100 a night. You could put 4-5 guys in a room no problem. as far as just regular bar life its nothing special. You'll basically have to take a cab over by the cape which is like 5 miles away. There is probably 6-8 ok bars along the water. And there isn't really any or atleast not many top notch dining options if you guys did want to go out for a good meal or anything.

Thanks for the replies fellas. I am going to check out that Wakulla suites.

Any other places on the beach you would recommend staying at that is close to Melbourne if it's not going to be Cocoa? From what I have heard Cocoa is going to be our best bet in that area.

Don't know much about Cocoa, but Melbourne has a decent down town. You can bar hop on foot and even have a place called Debauchery. Wouldn't really think to go to either place when you have Tampa and Ft. Lauderdale as options. I hate Orlando but some people like that place.

Melbourne is a decent enough town. There is some good bars in the downtown melbourne area, which is where the bar seldomseen just mentioned is. But again not really thought of as a bachelor party type place. There is only a couple strip bars in Melbourne and they aren't as good as cocoa's are. Can I ask why are you guys doing the melbourne/ cocoa area for a bachelor party?

Also what is it you guys are looking to do? Strip bars? Just getting hammered? Looking for top notch food? I mean are we talking more of a low key thing or are you younger guys really looking to have a great party night?

We are going to the Nationals Spring Training. That's why we are going down to that area. Cocoa beach is 25 minutes from their ST complex.

We have some loud drunks in the crew. Is that Wakulla place for us? I checked out the website and it looked like a family place.

I think we would rather hangout in Cocoa close to the strip joints. Most of the guys are married we'll be with so hanging out with strippers is more appealing than normal chicks at this point. Thanks for the reply.

Gotcha. Well I had about 50 people stay at that hotel the night before my wedding which was 2 months ago. They didn't seem to mind the noise. They were cool with beer in and around the pool area as long as it wasn't glass. They have grills and stuff there if you want to cook some steaks or whatever and its 100' from the ocean. I wouldn't call it a family place any more then the other hotels you'll find around the area. If you guys are stuck in the cocoa area then I'd say hit the bars around the cape for the early night and then make your way to the strip bars after that. Taxi drivers will try to get you to go to certain strip clubs because they get a kickback from the club for bringing people there. So you'll find different taxi drivers telling you this place or that place is the best strip club. Don't listen to them, cause like I said, they say that cause the club gives them money to bring you there. Stick to a place called Lido's or the Inner room. best two strip clubs they have there. Just keep in mind neither of them will hold a candle to the better Tampa strip clubs but for the cocoa area its the best you'll find.

Been to Cocoa literally hundreds of times, best casino boat in history once ran out of canavarel, the Sterling.

The beach and bars in and around Cocoa are ok for the first couple-three visits, then they wear off...........Tampa/Clearwtar more appealing to most, having said that, I enjoyed Cocoa area just as much.
