The Seattle Seahawks are not all that this year.Despite what happens today in Carolina their last several games have been very unimpressive to say the least. Two straight losses and the game before at Washington was not very clean either,so im not seeing them as one of the top teams up to this point in the season. They also have a lot of inner team troubles among themselves

Seahawks are about the same team as last year IMO. What is hurting them a lot is the new enforcement of the defensive holding rules. Sherman and the Seahawks secondary grabbed onto guys all the time last year and were never flagged. That's what made their defense so great is that WRs couldn't get off the line. With the new rules they are not as strong on that side of the ball and the offense has never been on a high enough level to carry them.

For whatever reason their defense is a shell of itself from last year.

I really started seeing it in the redskins game. Something is missing on D this season.

You guys do realize in their first seven games they've faced Manning, Rodgers, Romo, Rivers and Newton right?

They are fine. 4-3 over their first 7 including wins against the GB and Denver.

They now have Oakland and the NYG at home. Should be 6-3 after 9.

Postseason doesn't start for several weeks... a lot of time to hit there peak... if I remember right, LY was a 4 pt win at Carolina... Wilson is a lot better QB this year then last... Think that will speak volumes down the road.. I still would take this team to represent the NFC slightly ov Green Bay at this point...

It's really hard to win on the road in the NFL. Beating Carolina on the road is not easy. It was an ugly game but any NFL team would take it.

Enfuego, I wouldn't say they are fine - they hardly look like the SB champs right now - I think they just have a hangover but they arent looking too dominant

Oh I agree, told my wife today, they just aren't as good as last year.

That said, they're playing really good teams right now. I mean take away the random Romo hail marry on 3rd and 20, they are 5-2.

like Vlad The Impaler says....really tough to sustain success in the NFL without an elite offense, just much easier to maintain offense year over year than defense.

Also this is a "Disease of More" team. Pat Riley used this term and I think it applies to Seattle pretty well. All that swag and in your face bravado is great when things are going well but it does have drawbacks.

In 1988, Riley published a book entitled Showtime: Inside the Lakers' Breakthrough Season, a New York Times best seller which recapped the Lakers' successful run to the 1987 NBA Championship. One of the phrases Riley coined in the book was the "Disease of More", stating that "success is often the first step toward disaster" and that defending champions often fail the following season because every player who returns wants more playing time, more shots per game, and more money. The phrase stemmed from the Lakers' disappointing 1980–81 campaign coming off a championship the previous season.

From Lynch to Harvin to the alleged jealousy towards Wilson's endorsements. I usually hate narratives like this but I think there is probably some carryover to Sunday with it for Seattle.

throw this right out the window,..many teams have injuries and key ones,..so this has nothing to do with that,...they just are not the dominate team that they showed last season.today they actually got lucky that carolina didn't play good football and take advantage of the breaks they got.

russell wilson also is not better than last season,he has no control of this team,he is not the leader of the team like last season either, lot of bickering between the team and his name seems to come up in the negative more often than not.

i really don't see them winning the nfc this year

I might take the field against Seattle for the NFC, but would take Seattle over any 1 team someone wants to go head to head with

You clearly don't watch much Seattle football. Guy is playing the best that he's ever played. Hell, last week he did something nobody in the history of the game has done...pass for 300 and run for 100.

And when you say Seattle got lucky Carolina didn't play well? I think Seattle had a bit to do with that and I could always say to you, Carolina is lucky Seattle didn't play well.

That argument is lame.

I'm supposed to stay out of your threads? Why? Because you say so?

Saying Russell Wilson was better last year than this year is idiotic. It's not close.
