The Bears. The Cubs. Even the Hawks lost last year.

Can we at least start this season right with a Bulls slaughtering of the Knicks tonight?

Can I get an AMEN? @):)

Hey, the Cubs just hired Joe Maddon. Hate the Cubs, but I have to admit, their future looks bright. If Maddon can't get them a title, they are jinxed.

If Thibodeau stays with a 9-10 player rotation and let's the guys who can shoot the ball do just that this team can be pretty good this year. You have to be able to score as well as defend. This team showed last night they can score now Coach just needs to let them.

Great season for the Cubs that exceeded expectations.

Have to say I was completely heartbroken growing up in Chicago when the 84 Cubs lost to the Padres. Great team with the daily double that made a trade for Sutcliffe and Eck. I went to many a game and had the old circle team photos hanging in my room with Ray Burris, Willie Hernandez and Steve Swisher on them. I would watch them religiously after school and have to hear the Jody Davis song, names spelled backwards and Harry sing take me out to ballgame hammered. My favorite players were #10 Dave Kingman and Rick Reuschel, still remember coming home from school and watching the 23-22 loss to the Phillies back in 1979.

Sometime after 1984 they became a cult of casual fans, no one cared about the Cubs in 1983 when Lee Elia went on his rant but fans of baseball (I did). Some point after this I had to commit to the ugly dark side. Loved Harry on the Southside growing up as well, arguably one of the worst moves they ever made was giving him the boot. As a fan of baseball I always watched the Cubs and have been to many a cold opening day as a ritual - and many a memorable (some very hazy) game as a fan of baseball.

**. I was actually pulling for the Cubs to go just a tad farther in the end.

One thing that that always got me was they have a big market budget for managers, players etc... And it always seemed to be mismanaged somehow. The fans were OK with it as long as Sammy hit a HR. The fans who pack the place, buy their merchandise, and give the team such high TV ratings deserved way better. We can all agree on that. I have to say that this year 2015 they have turned the corner on this. Ownership also reinvested in the stadium itself after decades and decades of nothing.

Two moves made their fans grow - hiring Harry Caray after the Sox fired him, and WGN becoming a superstation.
