There is only pitcher in baseball who deserves the name "Big Game" and he doesn't play for the Royals

I wouldn't go that far. Great performance though. One for of the ages.

A man by the name of Michael Jordan did it every post season every year and won title after title.

Agree..that was amazing. ERA 0.25..wtf? How is that even possible? He was pretty cool after the game too..it's like he didn't even break a sweat. Just amazing.

I mean over 50 innnings.. 200 innings in a full regular season is considered a work horse....

That's over 6 months... 33 innings / month...

Bumgarner throw 50 plus. against the best. in the postseason. with an ERA of 1... and finished with 5 innings on 2 days rest to win/save the World Series.

John Smoltz had an amazing run as well.

I actually wish he was more emotional. During the celebration he didn't even look happy.

Be really interested to hear if they drug tested him. Best series pitching performance I've ever seen by far. I mean I pitched for years growing up. I don't care how much adrenaline you have pumping, your arm just doesn't recover like that.

Gibson and Koufax had incredible performances in World Series and are two of my favorite pitchers of all time....after Gibson's performance in 1968, baseball lowered the mound and Koufax won a game 7 on two days rest.....but Bummy with this performance was unreal......

Sad we have to think about that in today's game but you make a good point. Seems too good to be true

Koufax threw 160 pitches and never threw a curveball after the first inning..won 2-0

As good as Bumgarner is I was at the ’67 world series and without a doubt Bob Gibson was the best/dominating pitcher I ever witnessed.

He went 3-0, 1.00 era, 0.70 whip, 26Ks in 27 innings and only 5 bb. Single handedly beat my beloved "Impossible Dream" Red Sox.

While he had the advantage over Bumgarner with the higher mound he had the disadvantage of facing a tougher lineup than the K.C. Royals.
