It's a disease that you could have for days and not know it. I'd expect a health professional to at least be aware of this and take max safety precautions if she was exposed. Feeling alright just doesn't cut it when you can go a few weeks without symptoms. Nurse is being selfish. Just needs to stay at home for three weeks for the greater good IMO.

From the reuters article I referenced above: Medical professionals say Ebola is difficult to catch and is spread through direct contact with bodily fluids from an infected person and is not transmitted by asymptomatic people. Ebola is not airborne.

the law says they can only detain you for the amount of time it takes to reasonably determine that you have or don't have a disease that is on the list the President makes, which ebola is on this list. and they can only detain you if they suspect you of interstate travel.
only way around this is during time of war, where they can detain you as long as they like with or without cause.
so what will need to happen is the law will need to be changed, or they will need to declare war.

How many people in the US have died of Ebola? One? Two? In comparison, I wonder how many Americans have died from dog attacks in the same time period.
The only way to be infected with Ebola is having direct contact with bodily fluids of someone who is already infected (which is why only medical personnel who were in Africa or otherwise treating infected Ebola patients are the ones getting it).
