The same teaser and parlay players will give it all back and much much more. That's a lock.

and me too

since not wanting to be part of the 80% plus crowd is "part" of my capping, I tend to take it in the face when they do

at least that used to be the case when I used locals, when they had really bad days I never had a good day

[h=1]Sports books get crushed in Week 11[/h] [h=3]NFL favorites go 9-3 against the spread, capped by Green Bay Packers' blowout[/h]

Kirby Lee/USA TODAY SportsAfter a record-setting September for the books, the bettors had a big winning Sunday.
Count Las Vegas sports books among those displeased with Jay Cutler.
The Green Bay Packers' 55-14 blowout of Cutler and the Chicago Bears capped the worst Sunday of the NFL season for Las Vegas sports books.
An hour before kickoff, the MGM sports book had taken eight times more money on the Packers than the underdog Bears.
Sports book operator CG Technology took around a $250,000 hit on parlay and teasers bets that included the Packers and the over, according to vice president of race and sports Jason Simbal.
The Westgate SuperBook and the Stratosphere and Aliante sports books also were lopsided with Green Bay and over action and suffered what each described as the worst Sunday of the season.
"Anytime there is a long line for the Sunday night game, you know the book had a bad day," Marc Nelson, sports book director at the Aliante Casino, said.
Favorites went 9-3 against the spread Sunday, the usual recipe for disaster for the books. It could have been worse. The underdog New York Jets' 20-13 upset of the Pittsburgh Steelers was the books' savior.
"That was the only game we won," Hugh Citron, Stratosphere sports book manager, said.
The Jets' win was a big decision, but not nearly big enough. The Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers were the only other underdogs to cover the spread. All three favorites in the late afternoon games -- the Seattle Seahawks, Arizona Cardinals and Denver Broncos -- covered and kept a bevy public parlay bets alive heading into night game.
Aaron Rodgers and the Packers dashed the books' hopes early, jumping out to a 42-0 halftime lead. Cutler completed 22-of-37 passes with a touchdown and two interceptions. Cutler is now 1-11 straight-up against the Packers as a starter, 2-10 against the spread.
Never fear, though, the books will remain open. Nevada sports books won $37.27 million off of football in September, the third-most lucrative football month ever.

This week in the LVH NFL Contest I took 5 favorites which I never have done. I thought long and hard before I hit the "submit" button because I couldn't believe I took 5 favorites. Wound up going 5-0 with Lions, Chiefs, Falcons, Cards and Packers. I must admit I got lucky in three of the games and the Packers was the only easy one.

I have made me some good money this year as well. Including a 5-0 Saturday in College.

But I got ass raped yesterday with Buffalo and St. Louis. And made bad plays on New Orleans and Chicago.

The books seem to be having their best season in a long time this year in both college and NFL.

The biggest upset of the college football season -- Texas A&M's 41-38 win over Auburn as 23.5-point underdog -- was the most profitable game of the year for the SuperBook.
"A&M was our biggest win of the season, and Ohio State (over Michigan State) was our second biggest," Ed Salmons, head football oddsmaker at the SuperBook, said. "This was our best Saturday of the year." The Aggies joined Northwestern State, Arizona and Utah State as the only three-touchdown underdogs to win straight-up this season. A&M won as a 14-1 underdog on the money line, but only a few bettors took a stab on the Aggies winning outright at Auburn.
There was, however, a late flurry of big money on A&M plus the points right before kickoff. The MGM, SuperBook and CG Technology each reported taking wagers in the five-figure range on the Aggies from a highly-respected group of bettors. Salmons described the late money as "really sharp." Rood said he received a handful of five-figure bets from sophisticated gamblers on A&M right before kickoff.
"The word gets out and the poker players all start showing up at the window wanting to bet 20 or 30 dimes ($20,000 or $30,000)," Rood said.
Ohio State's 49-37 win at Michigan State also was a boon for the books. The point spread grew from Michigan State minus-3 to as high as minus-4.5 before kickoff. The SuperBook took 10 times more money on the favored Spartans than the Buckeyes. MGM took eight times more money on the Spartans.

Bettor falls just shy of $357K payday

Updated: November 10, 2014, 12:03 AM ET

A bettor won the largest parlay card payout this season at a William Hill sportsbook Saturday but was left lamenting the Iowa State Cyclones for what could have been a much more lucrative weekend.
The bettor from Southern California, who asked to remain anonymous, won $80,000 on a nine-team parlay but lost out on an additional $357,406 when Iowa State failed to cover as a three-point favorite against Kansas.
In total, the better placed three large parlay bets Saturday at the Tuscany Casino in Las Vegas. He won $80,000 after Oregon covered the 8.5-point spread in a 51-27 win at Utah and completed his $200 nine-teamer.
In addition to Oregon, he had Indiana +6.5, UCLA -4.5, Baylor +5.5, Air Force -5.5, TCU -6.5, Georgia Tech -3.5, Texas A&M +21.5 and Washington State +7.5. They all came through, and the bettor returned to the Tuscany sportsbook Sunday morning to collect.
He told William Hill director of marketing Michael Grodsky that he only watched some of the Oregon game, which kicked off at 7 p.m. in Vegas. By then, the bigger game had already gone against him.
In addition to the winning nine-team ½-point parlay card, the bettor put $500 on a pair of eight-leg parlays. Both off-the-board parlays came down to Iowa State covering as a three-point favorite against Kansas. The Jayhawks jumped out to a 24-0 lead and cruised to a 31-14 win.
The eight-teamers included some money line wagers and would have paid $220,656 and $136,750. Iowa State was the only team included on both $500 cards. He won every other game on the parlays but was forced to settle for just the $80,000 from the winning card.
William Hill operates more than 100 sportsbooks in Nevada and receives heavy parlay action. Eight- and nine-team parlays hit often, but Saturday's payout is the largest of the season to this point. The sizes of the wagers also were notable. Most bets on eight- to 12-leg parlays are in the "$2 to $20 range," Grodsky said.
In off-the-board parlays, bettors pick games from the updated odds board compared to using parlay cards that often have stale lines.
