Tom Brady and the Patriots are now the favorites heading into Week 12. (USATSI)

For the first time in a while we've got a new champ. Well, paper champ. For Super Bowl odds. Which is basically the same thing as holding the Lombardi Trophy. Or at least as close as you can get in November.
So congrats to Bill Belichick, Tom Brady and the New England Patriots for winning nothing at it all.
But seriously, there's some logic here to moving the Pats -- and the Packers! -- above theBroncos.
Brady and Rob Gronkowski are ramping up the offensive production, Jonas Gray is running for 200 yards (who? exactly) and the defense is limiting teams nicely despite injuries. The Pats have looked like the best team in football every since people decided they were terrible following a Monday night loss to the Chiefs.
The Packers are playing some pretty great football right now too. Moving Clay Matthews to inside linebacker is creating tough matchups in Dom Capers defense and Julius Peppers is starting to get comfortable. Aaron Rodgers is playing quarterback at a level rarely seen in the NFL; he and Brady are neck-and-neck for the MVP right now.
Denver's banged up on the offensive line and Peyton Manning has a few weapons (Emmanuel Sanders, Julius Thomas) struggling with injuries. They just lost to the Rams. Still have to love the Broncos chances at getting to Arizona but they're not playing their best football right now.
The Packers and Patriots are.
Other movement of note:

 • OK maybe Mark Sanchez does matter. His latest bad game sent the Eagles tumbling down the list here.
 • The Seahawks are behind the 49ers, a pretty rare sight for Super Bowl odds over the past year or so.
 • Keep pounding those Saints. Ha ha ha. Sigh. Seriously though. They can win the division with five wins.
 • Look at the Falcons jump! You could've bought a division-leading team at 150-1. 50-1 is still a good price. Limp into the playoffs, get hot with a good offense and let things get real weird.
 • Texans are creeping up after Ryan Mallett took them to 5-5. They're such a sneaky pick for an AFC Wild Card spot.
 • You mean adding Ben Tate doesn't help the Vikings? No way.
 • No idea why you would pull the Titans back onto the board after a loss and offer them at 1000-1. Except to maybe have people give you free money, would be a reason why.

I would happily book all NE Futures... Not the least bit scared of that action

Did they get a new QB?

Once that calender turns to December it's money making time fading Dallas.

KC with that running game is great value they are also very live to grab the #1 seed and could easily get the #2. if the pats hold serve and get #1 the team i fear the most coming into gillette to beat them would be KC and that scary running game b/c in the cold they could just control the game. the only team in the nfc i fear should the pats get there is GB.

just stop

who's taking them out in the AFC?

the "undefeated Broncos"? who they used like a dust mop along with the AFC's 3 other division winners?

is AZ a lock to beat them?

all your faith must be residing in the GB Packers

PS: it's OK to suggest they won't win it all, it's silly to act as if they have no chance

Don't think New England will win the SB.

They have as good as a shot as anyone right now.

So many of these articles are written by "what have you done for me lately". These things change week to week but I like the position they have put themselves in.
