What if they disbanded the weaker fbs conferences and just made a 6th major conference ....? This should be fun

So I was bored today watching NIU game until arkansas kicks off and I started thinking....
what if they got rid of all these weaker conferences and took the top few teams from each and made a 6th power.... Sending the rest of the teams to the fcs level..? A couple of teams could get placed into existing conferences but here's how I drew it up real quick.

*i understand this is pointless and im not looking to be ridiculed, but I figured it might allow us all to voice some good opinions, have fun with it....

MWC: take colorado state, boise state, utah state, and maybe San diego state.

SUN BELT: take Georgia southern????

MAC: take NIU, and toledo?

INDEPENDENTS: take navy, army, byu and Notre dame.

CONFERENCE USA: God who knows, Marshall??? If anyone at all

AAC: take memphis, ucf, e. Carolina, cincy, and Houston.

that would give you 14-15 teams (Id leave out Marshall and San diego state of push came to shove to make it even 14)... Split it into and east and west... Might be kind of fun and a respectable conference headed by notre dame, Colorado state, boise state, and NIU...if you kept BYU in there and dumped San diego state or georgia southern it would be decent I think....

Please set aside the obvious issues of finances and so forth, I just wanted to hear some quality ideas

Notre Dame doesn't belong with those schools. Other than that I don't think its a bad idea.

Its just a shame those asshole let politics and money get in the way of a legit playoff.

Should be 8 teams. They change it and go 50% of the way b/c they are corrupt asses and IMO don't want to see the big dogs get upset by a 7 or 8 seed.

Tell you a secret..... There are really nowhere near 5 POWER conferences now.

Some of these have OCCASIONALLY one power team. And that is it. So.... not really a power conference.

And.... to call the piss-ants on this list a power conference..... give me a break!

Very much true... But let's weed out all the other "fbs" teams and make it just the best of the "best" lol

Impossible to do, because the list changes every year. How can you include Army and Navy and NOT Air Force, who won the Commander in Chief's trophy?

Whoops my bad big daddy... I did forget about those guys... I was lookin at the independents and forgot they are in the MWC... Yes they should be there too. Good catch
