Brady Hoke is out as head coach at Michigan, according to ESPN and multiple media reports.

Andrew Weber/USA TODAY SportsDiminishing returns in each of his seasons at Michigan led to Brady Hoke's ouster in Ann Arbor.

In his first season, Hoke led the Wolverines to an 11-2 record, including a 23-20 win against Virginia Tech in the 2012 Allstate Sugar Bowl, Michigan's first BCS bowl game since the 2006 season.

But since then, Michigan has seen its win total decrease each season -- 8-5 in 2012, 7-6 in 2013, 5-7 in 2014.

Michigan came under fire for its handling of quarterback Shane Morris' head injury in a loss to Minnesota on Sept. 27.

Former Michigan athletic director Dave Brandon, who hired Hoke on Jan. 11, 2011, resigned on Oct. 31 amid a public outcry for a new AD. Jim Hackett replaced Brandon on an interim basis.

Hoke, a former standout linebacker at Ball State, previously was the head coach at Ball State (2003-08) and San Diego State (2009-10) before accepting the Wolverines' position.
In a stunning coincidence, Hoke's ouster comes on the same day that it was announced that his predecessor in Ann Arbor, Rich Rodriguez, was announced as the Pac-12 coach of the year.

ESPN.com's Dan Murphy contributed to this report.

Talk is they go all in after Jim Harbaugh. Plan B would be Les Miles and perhaps Bob Stoops. I don't think Harbaugh goes back to the college ranks. Think he will end up with the Jets or at Oakland.

Pun Intended, Sooner or later Stoops may just want a change of scenery.
