Noe Iniguez is heading to jail after posting “revenge porn” online. According to the New York Daily News, the Los Angeles man posted an inappropriate photo of his ex-girlfriend on her employer’s Facebook page, trying to destroy her image, and her career. The 36-year-old was sentenced to one year behind bars and 36 months of probation, and is the first person to ever be sentenced to prison under California’s new “revenge porn” law. The law went into effect in October of 2013.
“California’s new revenge porn law gives prosecutors a valuable tool to protect victims whose lives and reputations have been upended by a person they once trusted. This conviction sends a strong message that this type of malicious behavior will not be tolerated,” Los Angeles City Attorney Mike Feuer explained.
Noe Iniguez’s jail sentence was decided upon after he was found guilty on not one, but three criminal charges. According to the report, Iniquez had two restraining order violations. His ex-girlfriend, the one he violated online, was the one who took out the restraining order against him back in November, 2013. He posted the topless photo of her shortly after.
According to Gizmodo, “revenge porn” isn’t illegal in many other states, which means people can post nude photos of whomever they want, and not face a consequence. The only way to protect yourself is to not share nude photos with anyone ever.
Mike Feuer explained that Iniguez used an alias to bash his ex, thinking he’d get away with it. He took it where it didn’t need to go, however, and now he’s paying the price.

“In December 2013, Iniguez, using an alias, allegedly began posting derogatory comments about his ex-girlfriend on her employer’s Facebook page. [He] allegedly posted a topless photograph of the victim on her employer’s Facebook page which was accompanied by a message that called the victim a ‘drunk’ and a ‘slut’ and encouraged her firing from the company.”
Apparently “revenge porn” is a problem. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, “revenge porn” got its name just how you would think: some people think posting inappropriate pictures of their exes online is a great way to get back at them for one reason or another. In California, however, that is now against the law, and Iniguez has set an example. His move didn’t pay off, and the only thing Noe Iniguez gained was a spot in jail.
