I decided today I was going to try to quit.

I have noticed over the past year my intake had increased quite a bit - I think I was averaging 64-100 oz a day. Definitely not healthy. It was just easy to get them and I didn't really think about it. I am halfway finished with day one and it sucks - I feel sick and have craved one all day. I really think I was addicted to them now. Damn I could kill for an ice cold coke right now...just gotta fight the urge. I'm glad I filled up with gas yesterday so I won't have to stop.

Bottled Water makes it easy because of the convince factor... Plus those water flavorings can give you variety. million different flavors, hate some, love others..

I drank black coffee in the morning and multiple sugar free red bulls every day for years. Couple months ago I decided to quit caffeine. It was absolute hell. Some days I'd sleep 18-20 hours and just have the shakes and sweats, my body ached. Was very painful. But it goes away after a while. I'm now 3-4 months in and have no craving for caffeine whatsoever and my sleep schedule has never been better. Just let your body do what it has to do. Gonna be painful for couple days. Have a nice hot tea.

100 oz a day is a lot. I think I average around 32.

I figured two twenty ounces, two cans, and whatever size for lunch. It adds up quickly. I am on the road a lot so its easy to get in the habit of having something to sip on. My ultimate goal is quit fast food too. I am not fat, but I am definitely not a physically fit person. I am going to grab some green tea tonight to see how that goes. I have been pounding water all day and I'm sick of it already.

I gave up soda for the most part a long time ago. every now and then ill have one in a well drink or something, but a lot of the times if I try to drink a soda, it upsets my stomach and I can be shittin my brains out. regular water, flavored water, some juice and milk is about all I drink these days

I probably drank anywhere from 40-100 oz a day in diet soda. Went cold turkey over 2 yrs ago and gave up soda and it was a WONDERFUL decision that i made.
On occasion, i will drink a soda but i'll only drink regular and not diet. I still havent had a diet soda in over 2 yrs. Diet soda is worse than regular soda!!

I now drink a lot of water (boring) and chew more gum to get the urges out.

If u happen to break down and drink a soda, do it as a reward for something or a special occasion or something like that. Good luck!!

Nailed it! When I gave up soft drinks for a couple years, I would always have one as a "treat" on occasion, and boy was it refreshing. Ahh...

I quit a few months ago and I will drink A ginger ale as a treat because its actually good for you if you get the all natural ones with real ginger. Once you stop drinking for awhile it burns so much you wont even want to finish the whole thing.

I drink a lot of diet snapple tea now or plain water

I'm sure I won't quit them for good - but as for now I feel like I need to go cold turkey for a bet. I am really glad the only things in the house are water, beer, and milk. I thought I would have caffeine withdrawals but it hasn't been so bad yet. I think this is the first day in many years I haven't had some kind of soda.

I quit drinking pop and have been able to stick with MIO or another flavoring for water.

A lot of doctors think diet sodas are worse for you than regular since the NutraSweet in them is pure shit...basically fake sugar that your body doesn't know how to digest. I never touch those.

I'm not much for alcohol. Have never done drugs in my life. But I could chug the fuck out of soda given the chance...even though I don't drink as much as I used to when I was younger.

At one time around five/six years ago, I was drinking a couple Monsters a day in addition to a couple of sodas. It went on for some time and I didn't think anything about it. I woke up in the middle of the night one night and literally couldn't move. My muscles were frozen stiff and I was scared shitless...didn't know if I was having a stroke or what the fuck was going on. Slowly went back to sleep and thankfully was able to get up and walk in the morning. I saw a doctor not long after and told him what happened. He asked me about my diet, and I told him what I'd been drinking. Turns out I'd loaded up caffeine so hard that my body was completely dehydrated from it, which is what made my muscles stiff. Haven't touched an energy drink since, and thankfully never experienced that immobility problem again. I only really drink soda in Vegas nowadays...happier to have a Mountain Dew or Coke than I am with a whiskey or beer.
