I like them, they are good but not hall worth IMO.

They're kind of like Mike Mussina. Very good but not great. Not HOF worthy.

I'd guess there are less accomplished bands than Green Day in the R&R HOF

I like Green Day a lot though.

Rolling Stone basically runs the rock and roll Hall of Fame and all things related to it and they always LOVED Green Day..

Without question they are HOF.
How many other bands do you know of that started in the 90s still put out #1 hits?

They are awesome. Just a surprise they meet the 25 year requirement.

The real question is how did Ringo Starr get elected?

He is already in as as a Beatle.

Paul, George, and John are in individually, and rightly so.

But Ringo? Really?

Top hits, #1's have limited band input, it's all management, production and promotion. That is a fact, greenday did nothing new, that already had been done for 20 years. The rx is funny as for music, cattle to the slaughter, very few people here have a clue to original music.

And Judas Priest, Iron Maiden & Deep Purple which are much bigger and MORE popular bands than Green Day gets the snubs.

Not a surprise to me. Green Day is one of the most successful punk bands of all time, up there with The Clash, The Sex Pistols, and The Ramones, as far as being a success. I feel for you metal heads, but Judas Priest, and Iron Maiden, are not in the top as far as successful metal bands go. As a fan of Punk, I'd rather listen to Bad Religion, NOFX, or the Misfits, over any of those in the RRHOF, but that's how it goes. Blink 182 will get in before any of those bands do.
