The NFL is about to have a really big QB problem in about 3 years from now.

The NFL is already very top heavy in the QB department with about 10 teams with good ones and the rest of the NFL with not so good ones.

But imagine an NFL without Manning, Brady, and Brees.

This is about to be the case in a few years.

I just dont see the new talent coming up to replace them?

In about 5 years its going to be Andrew Luck,Jimmy Garoppolo, and then everyone else.

I am excited about exactly 0 QB's coming out of the draft this season.

MM and JW have major issues at the next level.

All these college teams are moving over to this spread offense that does not translate to the NFL.

So this means that when an NFL team drafts one of these players the NFL team either has to convert the college QB from a spread system to pro style system, or they have adjust their system to a spread system in the NFL to fit the QB.

Both of these techniques have been tried at the NFL level and 9 times out of 10 it always fails.

So this means that the NFL probably needs a minor league system.
Because the college system is getting further and further away from the way the NFL is played.

This actually happened in the early aughts when Aikman, Young, Kelly, Marino, Moon, Elway pretty much all retired within a very small window.

Then Manning/Brady/Brees weren't quite elite yet and you had a period of 3-4 years with a QB drought. Tough to say if it could happen again, certainly possible.

Agreed... don't even consider Brees a top QB man.

Rodgers better than him IMO

He may not be right this second.

But a QB that has 4 of the 7 5K passing seasons in NFL history and a guy that will probably retire 2nd all time in passing yards is certainly an all-time great.

Manning is showing major signs of slowdown lately.
I think its going to start getting ugly for him next season if not already.
Brady is probably in his last or 2nd to last season of elite football.

Rodgers will be around for awhile, and Luck is going to rule for the next 10 years.

But the pipeline is not replacing whats walking out the door.

Yes that happened but back then you could see that the torch was being handed off to capable replacements that just needed a little time to mature.

I don't see the capable replacements this time around.

I know this stuff usually goes in cycles.

But I don't see the new talent like I did then.

There wont be any such problem and Goodell will still be the commish. Lots of talented QB's coming out of college every year. The guy from Oregon State looks pretty good.

Mannion? ya he sucks

Oh you mean Mariotta.....He is worth the gamble I think, he seems like a better Kaepernick but don't think he is leaving teams drooling as if he is a sure thing.

Shows just how insanely hard it is to play QB in the NFL that there are only 10 good ones in the world given all that comes with being a good NFL QB.

Really it's just Brady and Manning. Brees isn't quite the star that either of them are. The league will be alright with Luck and Rodgers. Jameis and Hackenburg will be coming out of the next couple of years and the kid for Memphis is a pretty intriguing freshman prospect. NCAAF may be continually evolving to a spread style offenses but the top recruits at that position will be looking to play under a coach who best prepares them for the pros.

hard to say. Remember when Bledsoe got hit out of bounds? Then came in a guy named Brady. If Bledsoe never got injured on that play, its possible we never even hear of Brady

Hackenburg is one of the worst QB's in the CFB game today.
