New York City Hotel /Broadway help

Guys,

I will be taking my wife and daughter (and a friend) to New York for a weekend geteaway in April. I have been on business many times, and usually stayed at the Waldorf. Looking to stay more around theater district.

Any hotel recommendations? Also, I looked online and Lion King tix are 200 bucks a p[iece. Are there any ticket outlets near broadway that sells discount tickets the day of the show? Thanks in advance.

We have an office around there...I stay at the Crowne Plaza in times square as you get access to a nice gym...

I know there is the tkts booth in times Square with discounted tickets for same day

I asked a relative who lives out there and this was their response:

"I don't have a mind-blowing NYC secret for this, but I've always had reliable results at TKTS (locations in Times Square and at South Street Seaport, great for same-day discount tickets). You can get similar deals by showing up at the theater's box office day-of. I haven't looked for The Lion King lately, but it's been around for so long that I doubt it sells out every day."

So the above poster seems to have the best option. Maybe catch Book of Mormon instead? :nohead:
