In general, that should not be called

The offensive guy tried to push off, the defender with a slight swat and nothing after.

I think the point is the flag was thrown, the call was announced, and then with no explanation picked up like nothing ever happened. That has nothing to do with "letting them play."

What about the defensive holding on the receiver to begin with? He's clearly pulling on his jersey. On that play alone it could have been defensive holding, defensive PI, and another flag for Bryant coming onto the field to argue the call.

Fwiw, I had no money on the game, but I'm getting tired of seeing the NFL on it's way to being like the NBA with all of this bad officiating.

Yeah, good call. That offensive pass interference on ND against Fla St. this year was a great call as well.
