If you ever take UBER, please reconsider!

They have cut the fares over 32% in the last 8 months, with the reasoning that it will increase trips for the driver, which is BS. A driver can realistically rum 3 trips a hour, and that is pushing it. How they expect drivers to do more, is beyond me. Uber is trying to strong hold the market, and is doing nothing but forcing a business model that resembles the cab industry, they say, they want to get away from.

They expect drivers to hold to high standards while cutting fares from $1.70 per mile, to $1.23. They offer a guarantee on fares, but you have to have a 90% acceptance rate, and sometimes are required to drive 10 miles for a $3 trip.

I have been driving with them for over 7 months. I would say 90% of my passengers say they would pay more for Uber for the convenience and experience. I offer COLD bottled water, clean car, speak perfect english, friendly, etc. 99% of clients could care less if the trip is $2-$4 more, but to a driver that runs 1000's of trips a year, that adds up.

Please spread the word, and use LYFT where available

If you ever use Cab service, it is top notch. But the cut in fares is really having a impact on drivers

i love UBER - though I don't have Lyft - the drivers tell me that they make over $400 a night on the weekends

Really, a guy like you using Uber, does a $13 fare deter you from using Uber over a $10 fare?

That's the thing. Uber baited drivers in, now cutting fares drastically. Hard to make a decent wager now. Download the Lyft App and check it out. While there are less drivers, I expect that to increase over the next few months. Lyft allows you to keep 100% of fares with 50 hours of "on clock" hours. Which is HUGE, where Uber keeps 20% no matter what. And they cut fares by 32%

I am very sorry. We are implementing these price changes now because the months following the holiday season are notoriously slow, resulting in low trip demand and a slump in partner earnings. However, we will be evaluating the results of these price changes very closely to ensure they have the biggest positive impact possible for both riders and drivers. To that end, we have also introduced the hourly fare guarantees detailed in the e-mail you received.
We will be closely monitoring the results of this initiative, and if we find that the results are not as positive as expected, we will definitely take a second look at prices and make any necessary adjustments.

Thing is, my trips aren't slumping. My trips are better than ever. I have customers that call me for rides also. I am pretty sure they have a marketing department ran numbers, all while they have no idea what they are doing. I would love to put these guys in THEIR car, at those rates and see how they feel about it. Morons

I love them too, but I won't use them again until they offer drivers a sensible wage. How would you like a 32% cut in pay, when you are offering 1000x better service than your competitors?

My Daughter and her friends uses it.
She likes it because a lot of the cars are New and Clean. She said most are Benz and Lexus

BAS, things will change. One could make a decent wage a few months back, but for some reason UBER is dropping rates. Doesn't make sense to me, my business has been steady as ever, and now they drop rates. I am making $300-$400 less a week now. They say you will get more trips, but that's not true, you can only run 2, maybe 3 trips a hour. Airport runs use to be $30 from downtown Cincy, they are now $21. And when you come back empty, that really hits the wallet.

Thing is, it's great for the consumer. But I think when service starts deteriorating it may wake Uber up, but by then it may be to late
