This is true. The leagues see how much this drives interest in their sport and now they wanna open all the floodgates once they get a taste on what legalized "gambling" looks like.

I'm not sure if anyone saw it on TV but the DraftKings advertisement was all over the Broncos stadium Sunday. Jumbotron, scoreboards that go around the stadium....
Barrier to entry isn't nearly as low as you think. You need tons of financial backing to be able to advertise and continue to put on the big guaranteed prize pool tournaments to lure people in. When these don't fill you have to eat the overlay which can get expensive as your site is growing.
It's kinda like saying "Oh I wish I thought of Facebook!"
