The NFL has zeroed in on a New England Patriots locker room attendant who allegedly took the AFC Championship Game balls from the officials' locker room to another area on the way to the field, Fox Sports reported, citing sources.

According to Fox Sports, the league has interviewed him and has video.
The league is still gauging if any wrongdoing occurred, but he is a strong person of interest, according to the report.
In a news conference on Thursday that lasted a little more than 30 minutes, Patriots quarterbackTom Brady detailed how he selected 24 footballs for referees to inspect before Sunday's AFC Championship Game against the Indianapolis Coltsand said he "didn't alter the ball in any way."
The NFL found that 11 of the Patriots' 12 game balls from their 45-7 win were inflated significantly below the NFL's requirements, league sources involved and familiar with the investigation of Sunday's game told ESPN's Chris Mortensen.
The NFL on Friday released a statement on their investigation, saying they had conducted nearly 40 interviews to that point. Patriots wide receiver Matthew Slater said Saturday that the NFL Players Association has advised Patriots players not to discuss the ongoing investigation.
Also on Saturday, Belichick detailed the organization's preparation process and suggested that weather conditions may have affected the air pressure in the footballs. The longtime Patriots coach emotionally defended his team, saying, "We did everything as right as we can do it."

I would assume all those guys are a person of interest

from locker room attendants to equipment managers to the kids who wipe off the footballs when they're wet

then again, I thought they might want to interview BB and TB as well, but I guess some investigations are just done different than others

Great position of leverage for the locker room attendant. Sell story to highest bidding tabloid. He certainly didn't deflate the 11 NE balls without a directive from above.
Would not be surprised if the chain of directives from above, leads to Offensive Coordinator/QB Coach Josh McDaniels. Attendant can spill beans to NFL. Story breaks just as Super Bowl ends. Locker room attendant can't get in any trouble, walks away with tabloid money, and begins a new chapter in life. TB and BB can stick to their stories, and the fall guy, falls.

Who will win the bidding war, the tabloid for the real story from the locker room attendant or Kraft's representatives to buy the locker room attendant off to lie/take the fall and say he did it on his own volition.
If he gets legal representation, he tells the truth to the tabloid and the NFL, and gets his final NE team autographed football.

I think they start at 12.5, maybe the league even tolerates a little less (or more) upon inspection, then a combination of weather and play causes them to lose a little pressure which puts them below the limits

Other teams start with a higher PSI, so when they lose a little pressure they're still within the stated guidelines

If the balls PSI is set at the minimum at 12.5 PSI two hours and 15 minutes before gametime ANY fluctuation in the balls PSI will put the fall below standard, especially tempeture.

If I put 10 balls in front of you and 9 were at 12.5 and one was at 11 PSI ..I'll bet you 100$ to your $10 that you can't pick out the one that is at 11.

the balls were 2 psi under, now being reported as incorrect and that they were closer to only 1.
