Why didn't he call time out after Seattle got down to the 2 yard line with 56 seconds still on the clock....

To be honest I think that:

1. He is the greatest coach of all time; and...
2. It was still an unbelievably dumb decision not to call the timeout.

Likewise, obviously one bad decision by Carroll (passing) doesn't automatically take him from a great coach to not a great coach.

I agree with this post almost fully... I can't say he's the greatest of alltime, but he's up there... and not calling a TO there doesn't do any damage to his legacy.

I don't think when he goes to canton they are going to be obsessing over a timeout they might have needed if call in his 4th sb championship.. Just a guess.

My question is how does everyone In the world know you need to call a timeout but the idiot coach doesn't. Does he not get paid millions to do this. Always amazes me .

Eh they should being its an obvious decision that my 8 year old cousin playing Madden would have made

Nonsense, Seattle had 2nd down with 26 seconds left, if he called timeout they would have had about a minute left & 2nd down. Only thing Bill B. could do. 2nd guessing Belichek is usually a bad idea he won again, he knew what he was doing.

Up by 4 points, the onus was still on seattle to score a td. Agree or not, I bet Bill has visualized that moment more than all of us put together. I probably call a timeout, but with a cooler head I think if you call a timeout there, two things happen. First, you concede to your defense that you dont think you can stop the offense. Second, you give the other team exactly what they were expecting, for you to burn your TO and let them talk it over. By not giving them that, you've taken that comfort away. Now, with only 1 timeout, down 4 and the clock ticking they are pressured to run a play called at the line, when they really wanted/expected to huddle up.
