Any of you guys play this? Been around in China forever, I think in the last few years some of the poker pros have gotten into it. Me and my friends started playing this for about a year or so.
lots of variations. For those that don't know. it is kind of like a robust pai gow with an expensive point structure.
game is played with a 3 card hand, a 5 card hand, and a 5 card hand. All must be sequentially stronger or else you foul.
it is point based. so i.e. a flush on the bottom is worth 4 points, in the middle it is worth 8 points. while a pair of 9s up top is worth 4 points.
basic rules:
everyone dealt 5 cards....must set all 5....after everyone sets (in turn), then the next round is dealt/set. No betting....just paying out points after everything is done. I have seen individual rounds done in 3 different ways....1) 1 card at a time (8 rounds for 13 total cards)...2) 2 at a time (4 rounds).....or 3) 3 cards at a time with one discard (4 rounds of this....called pineapple)
I'm sure I confused anyone who hasn't played this game before.
