Interesting fodder from a Pittsburgh columnist:

• The Pittsburgh Steelers: From 1974 to 1979 they went to four Super Bowls and won them all. Additionally, from 1972-79, they went to the playoffs eight straight seasons and from 1972-1984 11 times in 13 years.

• The Dallas Cowboys: Between 1970 and 1978 they went to the playoffs eight times, played in five Super Bowls and won two of them. Additionally, from 1966-1983, they went to the playoffs 17 times in 18 years.

• The San Francisco 49ers: Over 14 seasons, 1981-94, they went to the playoffs 12 times, played in five Super Bowls and won them all. They also went to the playoffs 16 times in 18 years from 1981-98.

• The New England Patriots: From the 2001 through 2014, they played in six Super Bowls and won four of them. They appeared in the playoffs 12 times in 14 years. Twelve division titles and nine AFC title games. They’ve never won fewer than nine games in that span. The two years they didn’t make the playoffs, they were eliminated on tie-breakers.

SF had the longest run in terms of playoffs, but no team has won 4 SB's in 6 years.

Consider this.Only two players left from their last championship in 2004 Brady and Wilfork. First championship for 51 other Pats. Thats a whole new cast of charterers for Brady and Bill.

Nfl history does not begin in 1970. Green Bay has eleven titles. Chicago has eight. Etc etc

Scott what is so funny?

Atleast you can go to a Pats game and enjoy the experience. As opposed to Miami where if you are wearing the wrong team colors they try to F you up in the parking lot. I'm surprised they don't sell Oxy at the hotdog stand there.

Pats game biggest nuisance is it is cold and in the middle of nowhere. Dolphins game biggest nuisance is someone might legitimately try to stab you.

Here are some very well-composed photos from a brawl between Dolphins and Packers fans outside of Sun Life Stadium before yesterday's game. According to the photo captions, shirtless bro repped the Packers. He does not appear to have won.
A Miami-Dade Police spokesperson told Gossip Extra that yesterday's game saw 66 incidents that required police intervention, and included 45 ejections and eight arrests. "That's more than usual for a Dolphins game," the spokesperson said.

Sal has it right ! Green Bay has won 13 NFL Titles by far the most. They won Titles in 61,62,65,66,67 ! Why do youngsters here think that just because they changed the name to Super Bowl in 1966 that Green Bays Titles don't count ? Bart Star and Vince Lombardi's Packers were the Greatest dynasty in the History of the NFL.

The guy who wrote the column is in his 70's.

This obviously means post SB era.

QB Automatic Otto Graham, RB Marion Motley, OL & PK Lou Groza, & the pass catching crew of Max Speedie, Dub "Special Delivery Jones & Dante Lavelli was the most dominant team of any era.

I don't even consider them a dynasty. Or at least the 2014 team ins't part of it. It's a decade after their last title and only 1 player is left from the other title teams. Totally different team, how is that a dynasty?
