Buster was a 42-1 underdog. Has to be close to one of the biggest upsets ever.

That night, no boxer ever would have beat Buster......he just lost his mother and this was for her. The heart, drive, passion, and his will would never have been broken in that one moment in time.

I don't think Tyson took him seriously.

Tyson`s claim to fame was knocking out no name boxers in the 1st round.

When it came to actually boxing another fighter....He sucked.....He could never go toe to toe with a good boxer.

Buster Douglas was one of the examples....And of course Evander Holyfield was the other fighter.

Tyson won his 1st 19 fights by knockout...13 in the 1st round....All nobodies.

Overrated athlete in my opinion.

I remember we didn't deal the fight because of the large odds....all we would have gotten was Douglass money......

I was 19 years old in the Navy in San Diego. I couldn't believe it. He was so invincible.

Biggest upset in boxing history. I've only had one avatar since I've been at the Rx and I won't have another. The man lost his mother and took down the monster that was Tyson. Great great great sporting moment.

I was so pissed when I heard the result. I remember a few months before the fight was even announced, one of the Sports magazines had printed an article about who could beat Tyson, or what style could beat Tyson, something like that. They named Douglass to a T as far as what style it would take, or what physical dimensions it would take, without actually naming him directly. At the time, I had 2 locals, and it was before I knew anything about Internet or Offshore. Neither of them would take a boxing longshot more than about 4-1, so I couldn't bet it. Would have had somewhere between $20-50 on it, a nice little score.
