Otherwise, the Two Bracket Finalists Will Square Off Again For The Championship (RD9) (8 Days - 16 Plays)

*************************************************************************************

Rules:

Object is to defeat your opponent. By defeat, that means to outscore him by having more (+) points or fewer (-) points at the end of the round. So the winner of a round could theoretically have a negative score. Winner continues on in the Winner's Bracket. The loser of a Winner's Bracket match will begin the next round in the appropriately marked spot in the Loser's Bracket. A loss in the Loser's Bracket disqualifies that player from further competition. You must make EXACTLY 12 plays in each round, no more no less. Any plays short of 12 will result in -110 penalty for each. With a 4 play/day max, you could max out in 3 days so obviously you would take the other 3 days off. Any combination of # of plays up to 4 is allowed but only one post per day to do it. All scores reset back to 0 to begin each round. Should a tiebreaker be needed at the end of a round, I may add something like "pick total points of a certain game" on day 6 of the round. TBD.

Maximum of 4 Picks per day using the Lines from Pinnacle Sports.
(Lines will be posted each Night and any OTB will be added the following Morning)

Each Play will be graded as a 1 UNIT Play: Bet To Win $100 on Favs / Risk $100 on Dogs

Lines will be available to use on Spreads and Game Totals only.
You can use the same game for multiple picks: ie,
Spurs -1.5 -108
Spurs Over 198 +102

Plays will be submitted thru the Google Form provided and show up on the accompanying spreadsheet.

The deadline to post plays will be 8:00:59 pm EST every day. Under no circumstances will any plays be allowed after this deadline. Any plays posted after this time will be graded 'no action' unless they are needed to meet the 12 play minimum. In that case, they become losses of -110.

Plays will be released at that time and stay visible until the lines for the next day are posted later that night. If you miss the plays while the sheet is open, I will copy and paste them in the overnight lines post for that day as a backup.

Any time there are games scheduled before 8:05pm EST, selections made on those such games must be in at least 5 minutes prior to earliest scheduled start time of that poster's set of picks. (Google Time Stamp will serve as time of post). Any plays past-posted will be graded 'no action' unless they are needed to meet the 12 play minimum. In that case, they become losses of -110.

All plays must include the Rot#, Team, Line and Odds. A simple copy and paste will help
alleviate any errors.

BE AWARE!
Whenever a play is posted with multiple odds, the right most number will be graded.
Ex:
501 New York Knicks +11½ -113 Over 201 -110
In this case, the Over 201 -110 will be graded only.

USE THE LINES POSTED IN THE CONTEST THREAD TO MAKE YOUR PICKS!

Only one entry can be submitted per day. Any additional posts will not count.

All picks will require your personally chosen 4-Digit Security Code. Any number submitted
that does not match what is on file will be invalid and all plays will not count.

Good luck!

For those not familiar with the Form in the NHL Contest, you will see an (x) in the picks box. Really would appreciate it if you place you picks UNDER that x. It's a formatting issue for when I copy and paste the plays to my spreadsheet for grading.

Thank you and good luck to all.

So call me Dummy. These are my dummy questions:

The objective of each round is what? To outpoint your opponent for that Round? Could I theoretically do it with one winning play? How about zero plays if he is running in the negative? Or do only plus points count so one could never run in the negative? Is there a minimum number of plays required for each round? I see where 12 is max. I assume that means any combination of plays up to four per day 'till 12 is reached. So skipping days must be OK, right?

Do scores accumulate? Or is everything reset to zero after each round is concluded?

Sorry for being so dense but I never before played in a format like this.

NBACapper, since you started all this with a Heads up Challenge, want to side bet? $50 a round ( if we both get eliminated well just start a separate thread) and then additional $100 for overall best record

No problem Michelangelo... I was rushing a bit to get the thread set up and figured I'd leave out some details....

Lack of plays = automatic disqualification. With a 4 play/day max, you could max out in 3 days so obviously you would take the other 3 days off. Any combination of # of plays up to 4 is allowed but only one post per day to do it. All scores reset back to 0 to begin each round. One thing I didn't address is a tiebreaker if needed at the end of a round. I may add something like "pick total points of a certain game" on day 6 of the round unless someone has a better idea. Anything else, please ask. GL

JOH - should all past posted plays just be losses? otherwise if ahead could theoretically just past post winners to get pushes and avoid losses...

All plays must be in at least 5 minutes prior to earliest scheduled start time of your pick set.
(Google Time Stamp will serve as time of post). Past posted plays will be graded a push if
outcome is a win
. Graded a loss if outcome is a push or loss.

Pisses me off. I discussed in the other thread of setting a 7pm deadline and then forgot to add it to the rules in this thread. I figured that would eliminate most of the past posting right there. Since I didn't list it in the rules before tonight, I'm letting all plays stand. I would like to make it a rule starting tomorrow.

As for grading a late post a push if it wins, the intentional late post theory makes sense. Beginning tomorrow, all past posts will be losses.

I got security codes for NBAcapper08 and dabbledonalock that don't match. All plays are no action.
