nice... would like more background history

Yeah, because just beating up a heckler would more than likely result in criminal charges. There has to be more to it of course. Do people heckle without a shirt on?

So, you just sit on top of a guy and punch him in the face when he isn't defending himself? Fucking asshole.

That's why he was a heckler and not a fighter.

Hard to have an opinion without knowing everything. If this heckler was insulting his wife and kids. He deserves what he got.

+1

Or if he was just flat out insulting the guy, people think there are no consequences to being disrespectful... well... in the streets you get away with that until you don't and that's when motherfuckers learn a lesson

Found this, TMZ is the source, so take that for what's it's worth.

"The Iowa Athletic Commission has launched an investigation into the violent gym fight between pro MMA fighter Josh Neer and a social media heckler ... TMZ Sports has learned. As we previously reported, Neer -- who's had 51 pro fights -- invited the heckler over to his gym for a "full contact" fight earlier this week. The heckler accepted and Josh beat his ass.
Footage of the fight went viral ... and officials at the state's athletic commission were among those who viewed the footage.

if you're the pro it's your responsibility to be the bigger man... Neer should've spanked him, a la Randy Couture on Tito. Embarrass the dude. But in the end, you're a pro. and you need to act like one - even if the other guy is a complete jackass.

Disagree. When a guy is defenseless, it's time to stop. Guys get killed that way man.

Yeah, totally agree. Kick his ass but don't beat a defenseless opponent.

I stand by a threat or something along the same lines to his wife or kids being worthy of this or even worse. However challenging him to a fight and then basically assaulting him after youve won the fight makes him a bigger douche than the heckler

When ur a pro fighter and u start beating the fuck out of ordinary people u need to experience the penal system and lose ur money - just be an adult - I'm not out kicking 15 year old kids that give me dirty looks - dont be white trash or a ghetto minority

I dunno how it works with MMA but obviously boxers have to register their hands as deadly weapons. He could get charged with assault with a weapon.

If he had $ he could probably settle but he isn't a big name or anything and fighters don't get paid much.

I don't believe there's any real thing as "registering your hands as deadly weapons" regarding boxers. I could be wrong, if so, I apologize.

lol yes I worded that wrong.

Obviously every fighter doing that would be impossible. Just meant judges can deem hands lethal weapons in assault cases.

Weird because I have heard fighters say that in interviews even though it isn't actually true.

I could see the courts saying that yes, a professionally trained boxer, or someone into MMA, could have their hands deemed lethal weapons in regards to an assault.

I was going to, but I lost the paperwork.
