Ontario's New Sex Ed curriculum

Grade 3: Same Sex Relationships, Gender Identification (male, female, transgenders and all the other crap)

Grade 8: Anal intercourse

They have it broken down from grade 1 to end of high school in detail and it is ridiculous. I just listed the two that i think are the most extreme.

FYI: Ontario's newly elected premier is a a lesbian.

Gays are crazy. I can't believe this is happening.

i understand where you are coming from, but gays arent going anywhere, so i dont see it as all that much of a big deal...could argue about the timing of course, but kids grow up quick these days.

there are a number of same sex couples with kids at the place my kids go to school, so better to have them understand that it is out there sooner rather than later IMO

I know two married chicks out here (one is a pal of my wife's from law school and used to date dudes...lol)...she is now 4 months pregnant using donor sperm...I have no problem with my kids understanding all this. No benefit of ignoring reality IMO

I have no problem with this. Grade 3 seems about right to teach kids about gays, they probably already understand it on some level.

Anal intercourse is kind of a strange one to cover. I'm guessing they slant it towards the fact that it is still dangerous from an STD point of view. If that is the case then yeah I understand this also. If the curriculum is "did you know you can stick it in her brown eye? It's super tight!" Then yeah that's inappropriate. But I doubt that is the case.

Personally, I don't think it's the public school's place to teach any of this. At least, not until high school, and then just the basics.

First of all, what do you hinge this....complaint(?) on? Like why is this a problem? Is the alternative of having kids not know what is going on and end up making mistakes they will regret or confusions and frustrations about sex so much better somehow?

Anyway I assume the point of OP is that it's somewhat counter-intuitive for gayness and transgender to be taught in grade 3 and anal in grade 8, seeing as how gay sex implies anal. But I really don't think you know what a curriculum is. Obviously they aren't going to teach kids the hardcore stuff in grade 3, but the whole gayness thing is just a simple "some people like their own gender a lot". Sounds normal, like you kinda want to start from the general and big picture first before going deep into anal territory (hrhr).

That's just how curriculums work. I think you are being too anal about this. Lawl.
