By Larry Brown

Ndamukong Suh is the biggest free agent on the market and there has been a ton of speculation about where he will sign. From the sounds of things, Suh may end up in Miami.

Omar Kelly of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel said on Twitter Wednesday that teams believe Suh to the Dolphins is a “done" deal.

"Word on the street regarding Suh is that when Steve Ross is involved you better be prepared to big high. Teams think Suh to Miami is done," Kelly wrote.

Kelly also published a column saying the Dolphins are expected to make an “all-out” effort to sign the four-time All-Pro defensive tackle. He says the team’s offer to Suh is expected to be for greater than $100 million, with over half of it guaranteed. Additionally, it should be noted that despite their lack of success in recent years, the Dolphins have landed top free agents the past two offseasons in Mike Wallace and Branden Albert.

Yahoo’s Rand Getlin echoed Kelly’s report by saying that the Dolphins and Colts are expected to make huge pushes for Suh. Getlin reports that the Dolphins have the edge, saying “a source close to Suh’s camp indicated Suh had a slight preference for Miami.”

One selling point for the Dolphins is that the state of Florida does not have an income tax, which allows players to take home more of the money for which they sign.

The Lions still have until Feb. 10 to try re-signing Suh before he becomes a free agent. They have been adamant that they will make a strong effort to retain him. Still, based on this video, we don’t believe Suh will return to the Lions.

Teams can begin negotiating with potential free agents on Saturday.

Signing big money free agents in NFl is a disaster
ya that is a fairly accurate statement I must say. Miami signed Mike Wallace to big bucks and that seems like a waste of money and reports I have been reading is they want to get rid of him. As a dolphins fan, I am all for it. I expected a lot more from him.

Surely, there must be a few examples of big money free agents that have worked out great? Let's hear some.

I can't think of any right now except for Brees and P Manning.

You already blocked the Patriots triumphant superbowl victory and the contributions of one Darrelle Revis out of your head?

I like Mike Wallace. He had a good attitude but underachieved. Andre Johnson could be an upgrade,

Exactly. You don't win the SB on March 10th ( when you can sign) . He was just after the biggest check he could get. Dolphins are irrelevant. Signing him proves it. Everyone would love to have him but at a decent price. The entire reason the Lions didn't franchise him is a 26 million dollar hit. I don't think any qb has that. Although have a feeling Luck will push that next season, but you can't let him go.

Suh is bad for a franchise right now. He will have a contract structured with so much guaranteed money, it would hurt a franchise to cut him. He simply isn't worth it. His cap hit will be larger than an elite qb's. It will be one of those where you are stuck with him. He will be suspended and he is a defensive tackle. Great fatass, you can eat up 2 blocks. You know what teams will do? Throw it short, crossing patterns, screens, fake screens, then post. If he is on the Dolphins, they will make him irelevant.

The Lions have the best receiver in the game and a top 10 quarterback and the best DT in the game, it has gotten them nowhere. Is Tannehill better than Stafford? No. Is Mike Wallace better than Calvin? No

These teams that make big splashes in free agency are morons
