If A Team Is Undecided On Mariota & Winston, Don't You Take Marcus Based On His Legs Alone?

Let me reiterate that i don't believe either of these guys are worthy of the #1 pick overall.

But with so much indecision between Jameis Winston & his troubled history, interception concerns, his love for baseball, versus things such as Mariota's lack of playing under center, then doesn't that 4.5 speed & scrambling ability give Mariota the edge?

Yeah if you are undecided, the speed would have a factor but I think the off field problems for Winston would keep me away from him

See, this is where these teams make the mistake at.

You don't take a qb 1st overall because you need one. You take him because you think him or her will be the face of your franchise for the next 15 years.

The fact is there is not a franchise changer quarterback in the 1st round this year. You trade down, accumulate more 1st round picks, let that team take Winston and you likely are 5-11 next year while having the 1st pick in the draft again. Same thing happens next year. You don't have a franchise qb available, sell to the highest bidder. Take a shot at a Petty in the 4th round. Do this every year. Then you win.

Or have Peyton be hurt 1 year, then take Luck.

Part of the problem is coaches must win immediately or be fired so they make major reaches and draft some jackass. Notice how the consistant winners have long term plans. 1998 Colts. Knew we would suck but lets see what we have in Manning. Drop him back 600 times. Ok, now we have something. Still picking 4th overall next season.

Winston throws good, like a qb should..>who cares if a qb is fast; one hit and disabled for the year...in NFL...it's the arm man..

This guy is the perfect example of the guy you make a trade with. Completely blinded by color.

Blinded by color? Just because youre ignorant ass brings color into everything does not mean that I do. I said that Winston is the most talented qb in the draft, not that he should be drafted #1. Please feel free to share with me what qb in this years draft has more talent

None. I trade, take a chance at a 4th rounder. My 4th rounder under my instruction is better.

No matter how bad your team needs a QB, it isn't worth the risk this draft.... Both have busy written all over them. I wouldn't take either until the 4th or 5th round

I'm sold. He will fall on his face like my good friends, Michael Vick and that RG 3 guy

Vick won at Green Bay in a playoff game in frozen temperatures..........Furthermore, its entertainment and a game at the end of the day and he was the most entertaining player in the league for years before all the other stuff went down

As far as Famous Jameis, the physical skills are there (more than Mariota as Winston is a more pure pocket passer than Mariota................Mentally he was really clutch in several games this past year as his team wasn't as good as year before..........The off-the-field issues and perceived immaturity is a risk for a team to invest that much money in.....Either he will grow out of it or he won't......That's the risk.
