it mattered to me cause i had a nice future ticket on wisconsin to win it all.But i won't blame it on one blown call as they never should have given up a 9 point lead late in the game, but yea it was a big call that went the wrong way

Any idea what the live line was on Duke down 9pts?

Gambling aside (I too won), from what has been said and discussed, the refs didn't see that replay, but someone who works with the officials on replays saw the one good replay, clearly showing the ball touched last by duke and wisc ball, but he didn't want to call the refs back, because of more delay and because of the restless crowd.

I really hope I heard the last part incorrectly, because that is madness.

Duke is going to get the calls in important games.. Just the way it is.. This game wasn't anywhere close to the blatant bad calls with UNLV-Duke back in 91.. worst officiated game in any sport I have ever seen..

1 single two-second play does not make you win/lose a game that's 40 minutes long.....

Lets look at the series of events that happened after that call.

Duke gets ball, drains a 3pt shot.... then Wisconsin answers back with a 3 point shot..... Duke runs the floor and misses their next shot.......

There we go... Wisconsin gets the ball in the same exact position if they would have been given the possession.

I also read the reserve ref saw the TV replay after the game refs left the table but did not want to call the refs back before play started. Crazy, get the call right, not what makes you feel uncomfortable.

Also, they blew the Winslow out of bounds play a minute earlier which led to a big bucket by Okafor and momentum. However, Wiscy cannot bitch about that call as much because the exact same thing happened to help them in the B10 title game with 18 seconds left that gifted Wiscy the B10 tourney title.

It was odd that after the Badgers were called for just two fouls in the first half, Duke was in the double bonus with more than 10 minutes left in the game. Might the fact that Wisconsin had the nine - point lead with 13 minutes to go in the game put the refs in a panic mode? Nah, not in the clean sport that is NCAA basketball.

None of the replays we saw on TV showed clear conclusive evidence that Winslow actually touched the ball as that still image up above pretty much shows.

I don't think the refs "missed" anything in that spot. Based on what they had to see they made what appeared to be the correct call...uphold the call made on the court: Duke Ball. Insufficient evidence to overturn...+ what NFLT said above.

Down 9 with 13:00 left and Duke's two best players are on the bench before two freshman guards took over the game.

Wisconsin blew their lead and Duke played well. End of story.

weird how you say duke played well and won move on. The officials were horrendous then and entire tournament. Turns out that early foul trouble was best thing that happened to duke. Force Allen to play and without that....duke loses.

They outscored Wisconsin 29-15 down the stretch. Move on, the better team won the game just as they did earlier in the year.

Hysterical. Wisc beat Oregon, Arizona and Kentucky. Duke best gonzaga. Wisc ran out of gas late and coach k whining helped him down the stretch. Unfortunately the ncaa selection committee gave duke a one seed when they didn't win their conference or conference tournament. They are a billion dollar industry for a reason. While they don't fix things they put certain teams in best possible position to make a long run. Duke is one of those teams.

If you watched basketball all year long and feel Virginia deserved a #1 seed over Duke or they were the better team over Duke, I don't know what to say. Duke beat Virginia in Virginia. Going into the tourney, it was very clear Duke was one of the top 4 teams in the nation. Nobody argued with Duke being a #1 seed.

Coach K whining helped them win? Ok, I guess Duke's D had nothing to do with it? Bo Ryan was on the side bitching too.

The better team won the game just as they had earlier in the year.
