Should institute a rule where you have to have a college degree to play, thus, the players would play for 4 years, and have something to fall back on when they go bust. NCAAB right now is just a spot for 1year wonder bball players to play, then bounce and hopefully try and make some money.

So you think college basketball should stop existing?

Because that is what would happen.

Soccer over basketball any day of the week. Imo basketball is the worst sport to watch. Nba can be bad at times but the shots they make at that level are unreal. College basketball prolly my least favorite sport to watch or bet.

The truth is college basketball is just an antiquated model for amateur athletics.

It really should just go the way of MLB where some people play College and others go on to play minor league basketball. However, CBB is far more lucrative than college baseball so this doesn't happen and won't happen anytime soon.

I watched a few NIT games this year.
I loved the new rule changes they made in that tourney.
They should implement those NCAA wide.

As far as the overall product.
Its not as bad as Cuban makes it sound.

Id rather 1 and done then 0 and done like it was during the Garnett era.

the biggest thing they could fix/alter to get guys to stay longer: players can declare for draft (even sign with agent?) and if you don't get drafted in first round you can go back to school with same eligibility you had prior. so many of these guys come out early and go undrafted or late in rd 2, and are playing overseas in like 6 months. never understood these guys coming out early only to hope they latch on to a D league team at best.

Yeah that ain't bad.

I think in general people just gotta realize you can't restrict a guys right to earn a living, even if it lessens the enjoyment you derive from watching the game.

I'd never care so much about sports to want to restrict another mans ability to earn a living.

The bottom line and elephant in the room is the college sports setup is inherently flawed.

rule changes: 30 second shot clock; no more video replay for anything (including these inane flagrant 1s and 2s); non shooting foul add 10 seconds to shot clock instead of resetting it. thats the biggest one NOBODY talks about. team dribbles for 33 seconds without even taking a shot, ref will call touch foul away from ball (for no reason usually), shot clock resets. this is why you go literally a minute sometime without a FGA.

I like that a lot . Very logical.
Baseball kinda does this for players coming out of high school

Yeah video replay sucks in the NBA too. Watching on TV it isn't so bad because I can instantly do 7 other things, can't imagine being in the arena for all that shit though.

They review EVERYTHING now in the final 2 minutes. It is like watching an NFL game where both teams have 34 challenge flags each.

Why should anyone need a degree to play basketball? Shouldn't even be one and done. College isn't for everyone, and guys should be able to go straight to the NBA if they're good enough.

Exactly.

Even if you think this hurts 1 or both products, who are you to tell someone what they can do with their life?

I think straight to NBA should be allowed but 1 and done is a good compromise.

There should be a better NBA minor league system like there is for MLB but this doesn't make dollars so it doesn't make sense.

The irony of this is I don't really start watching NBA regularly (as in fully keeping up with it) until May LOL..............Before then I'll just check a score and say Hawks won which happens a lot this year......Although I've seen more Hawks games this year more than normal due to their success (The Baby Spurs)
