Dear clients and friends and colleagues and professionals and family and anyone else that may be justifiably concerned about my health in recent days. I believe I owe everyone an explanation and it’s simply not plausible to communicate with everyone individually.

On Wednesday, April 1 of 2015, I awoke about 3:00 AM with significant pain in my upper left arm, a little pain in the jaw, but no chest pain at all nor did I suffer any shortness of breath. About 6 AM on that day I had Huskygal bring me to the emergency room ...........for precautionary reasons. The initial testing did not show symptoms of a heart attack, and I was beginning to think I’d be back to work within a few hours. The cardiologist however did not like the fact that I had arm pain combined with a microscopic increase in an enzyme the heart releases after a heart attack. He admitted me for observations, and concluded I did indeed suffer a heart attack.

On Thursday, April 2, the cardiologist scheduled me to have an Angioplasty procedure in New Haven, expecting to find some blockage he would simply stent and I would be back at work the next day. What he found was five arteries blocked at 90% or more, and he closed me up.

On Friday April 3, I underwent open heart / five bypass surgery. Obviously, such was successful. I essentially was not conscious for about 30 hours, give or take.

Medically speaking I’m fine. I have a very strong heart muscle, strong lungs, very good vitals and nothing at all to suggest I had such a significant blockage in my arteries, but that problem has now been cleared. I’ve been advised to stay away from work for 4 to 6 weeks. My plan is to put everyone who’s returns have not been complete on extension. I don’t anticipate working much in April, and hope to return to work in the beginning of May. I may not even prepare payroll and sales tax returns in April. We’ll prepare those in May as well. Trust me, should we ever need to explain to the IRS or to CT that your accountant had a heart attack on April 1[SUP]st[/SUP], you will NOT be penalized.

To sum things up the best I can for now:
A) All outstanding business tax returns will be placed on extension by our office and such will be completed in May of 2015.
B) All outstanding individual tax returns will be placed on extension by our office and such will be completed in May of 2015.
C) All payroll and sales tax turns normally processed in April will probably be processed in the first two weeks of May.
D) There are so many returns so near being fully completed that I may do a few before April 15. I feel remarkably well although I fatigue quickly and I have been told to REST. I’m not a very good patient.

If you have not sent over your tax documents as of yet, it would be beneficial to do such, or at least make us aware of any significant changes for 2014.

The office will be open several hours every day, although I may be limited to about two hours daily. I will also work a little from home. Huskygal will be the person running around tying all the loose ends together. ..... & K...... will be assisting her. I expect to be in the back ground. If somebody is uncomfortable with this arrangement, please let us know and we will do everything we can to facilitate a smooth transition. I understand and appreciate any and all concerns somebody may have.

We all appreciate all the continued support and well wishes we’ve been receiving. I know most of the prayers have been for me, but she’s the one with all the stress. While I get to essentially sleep through everything, she’s running to the office and making phone calls and setting everything up on a “T’ making it easy for me to finish a job. While I have young nurses attending my rehab needs, she’s working and then leaves the office to take care of me. “And I think to myself, what a wonderful world” J. Please have patience for a little while, Huskygal will address your concerns ASAP.

By all accounts, my energy levels are about to surge, and I can’t wait to put this new finely tuned machine to work. I know I was often times lethargic this tax season (not me at all), so I’m looking forward to regaining my edge. Can’t be sharp, innovative, clever and a problem solver when all you want to do is sleep. J

Again, we can’t be more appreciative than we are for all of your support. There will be more personal one on one communications with many of you over the next few days.
Wishing each and every one of you all of the best.

Some scary shit my friends, although I didn't really have much time to worry about it all.

A complete shock to everyone. I have low cholesterol, no sugar, great blood pressure, passed every heart test with and hint of a blockage. During this process, I even had two separate ultra sounds of my heart and both concluded I have an amazingly strong heart muscle.

after the process, I asked my doctor how can you learn about a blockage like mine ahead on time, he said you can't.

Holy shit.

Take it easy my man and recover soon.

On a side note, some of Defyings posts give me a headache, but never chest pains....damn....he must have sent you a PM or something.

All kidding aside, if there is something you need, let me know.

And you can't help us find the best conservative candidate to take on Hillary Rotten C.

Get well, Willie. Your clients need ya. Your wife and kids need ya. We need ya too.

In retrospect, I was somewhat fatigued throughout much of tax season. It's obvious now I was retaining water, and many people were saying I looked like shit. My skin color was awful. Several people have said I looked better immeddiately after the surgery that I did for weeks before the surgery.

The blockages must have been making me essentially suffer from congestive heart failure symptoms, although thankfully it was just blockages.

I'm going to be healthier in a month or so than I evidently have been in quite some time. Can't wait to use all my new found energy :)

and I think I'm going to start living with a few life filters, no more reckless abandon. Although I do still plan to work hard and play hard, I may cut back on my vices.

I've also learned fruit don't taste so bad, although I'm craving a prime rib

I've never been in the hospital before in my life, what a way to break the ice

I also think the medical profession may need to start doing a angioplasty procedure on people once they attain a certain age, just like a colonoscopy, but I'm sure they'll be a ton of resistance to such.

I can't believe all tests can miss 90% blockages in 5 arteries.

Thanks for all the well wishes everybody. I have been resting a lot the last two weeks, although I snuck into the office for about 3 hours a day the last three days because I felt good enough to do so.

I won't go back for at least 10 days now

I appreciate all your kind words and support
