Im a firm believer on betting good pitchers to have bounce back starts. Kyle Gibson got roughed up in his season debut against the tigers. Today he faces a hot Royal team. Royals had a day off yesterday which should cool them off a bit. Last year Gibson had 12 bad starts where he gave up 5 runs or more. Following each of those starts, 10 out of those 12 he followed it up with a quality start (3 runs or less). In addition, Gibsons career numbers against the royals are great. Royals who have about the same hitters as last year. Hes numbers against the Royals are 3-0 1.08 whip and 1.40 era.
Volquez for the Royals pitched a great opening day start. Threw 8 innings and gave up 1 run. The twins offense has been anemic this far so I dont see Volquez getting rocked.
