DECATUR, Tx. – A woman has been arrested after police say she stole nearly $240,000 from her employer.

On Tuesday, Nacina Walker, 50, was arrested after police say she was involved in one of the “biggest theft cases” ever handled, according to WFAA.
Walker, a former Walmart employee, has been accused of faking customers’ returns and pocketing the money.

Police tell WFAA that between January 2013 and October 2014, Walker would create fake returns while working at Walmart and would pocket the funds.
Walker told detectives that the crime started out with small amounts.

WFAA reports that Walker stole more than $8,000 a day from the Walmart in Decatur, Texas.

Detectives tell WFAA that Walker’s explanation for stealing was so that she could pay bills.

If convicted, Walker could face “anywhere from 5 to 99 years in prison,” according to WFAA.
